Different Forms of "Cute"

This is a philosophical study of the subject, "Cute".

According to Drs. Danette , Isen , Winchell , and co., "Cute" means "ugly but presentable".

In another context by Professor Janine Erika , "Cute" stands for "Corny Ugly Toyo Espasol".

The true source of the word is unknown, but the writer of this study, Dr. Charmaine has compiled a list of the different forms of cute:

I. Attraction "Cute" - This "Cute" generally refers to the physical appearance of a member of the opposite sex, or in some rare cases, a member of the same sex, especially when a chemical known as "Phenethylamine" is involved. Example: "He is so cute!"

In specific cases, this "Cute" may refer to a certain body part, for example: "He has a cute butt."

Couple "Cute" - This "cute" is usually reserved for couples who tend to display public affection or PDA, although it may be used to refer to un-couples who refuse to even look at each other due to shyness. An example: "Ang cute naman nina Kim at Sarah." or "Ang cute naman nina Dianne at Eric!" The first example can also be used for the 2nd case (un-couples) during their early stages.

III. Chibi "Cute" - The term "Chibi" is a Japanese word meaning "small". Chibi "Cute" refers to things, animals, and/or persons that look cute because they are small or childlike. Examples are: Abigail, puppies, stuffed toys, babies.

IV. IM "Cute" - This "cute" is usually used by people who are NOT cute but think that they are. They keep on insisting that they are cute, although nobody agrees with them. Another name for it is "Chutzpah 'Cute'". Example: "Ang cute ko talaga!"
