The Unwiritten Rules of Room Escape Games

Sunday, June 22, 2008

  1. There is always something hidden under any piece of furniture.
  2. There is always something hidden under the pillows, sheets or cushions of beds and sofas.
  3. There is always something hidden under curtain and carpets.
  4. There is always something hidden in the trash can.
  5. There is always something hidden in the ceiling lamp and/or potted plant.
  6. There is always a note with a vital clue, and it is often ripped into two.
  7. When a key is found, try it out on every single keyhole.
  8. Walls are always a uniform color and, more often than not, the color reflects the name of the room/game.
  9. Paintings are a vital clue.
  10. Nobody knows why you're locked up in a room. (Although some games provide a reason, they are rare.)

I'd give links of games but i'm too lazy to do so. Some of the best room escape games I've played, though, are Mystery of Time and Space (or Motas), and Sphere, RGB and Vision (all three are made by neutral). Just Google them.

Enjoy!
