Merry Christmas, everyone!

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

It's Christmas!!!

Well, not yet, but it will in only 2 or so hours!

Yay!

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday because it's just so happy and festive. (Well, actually, ano pa ba meron? Araw ng Kagitingan?)

But anyway, tonight I made Banoffee Pie for our family Christmas Eve dinner. Masarap naman, masyado raw matamis. And I fail at making whipped cream. Hindi ba iwhi-whip lang yung cream??? I whipped it! I did! Pero hindi naging whipped cream. Sad.

Here's Choco (my cute little pet from the Pet Society app on Facebook) to greet you a Merry Christmas! :D

Merry Christmas!

Movie Time

I watched Music and Lyrics today. I loved it. It's a very different romantic comedy, for me at least. And I just love Hugh Grant, even though he's old, mostly because of his British accent and his humor. He is so funny! And in this video! I love this song, probably more than Way Back into Love (though I love that song a lot too).

I also watched Superman Returns. I didn't enjoy it very much. It's strange but movies based on DC Comics characters are usually not as fun as that of Marvel Comics (Superman Returns, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, vs Spiderman and Iron Man? Spiderman was really entertaining and so was Iron Man. And X-Men, too!) What a superhero movie really needs is some humor. No wonder Batman is so gruff all the time.

Video Dump Part 2

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

Oh hey it's that dude in Kill Bill... haha XD I find this video funny. I like the song and all, and I don't hate the Jonas brothers, I think they're fine. But the video is really funny. :)

Demi Lovato. I think she's actually pretty in this vid. And the song's nice. I haven't seen Camp Rock but from the previews, I think she didn't look as nice in that movie as she does in this video. But, that's, you know, just me. :)

Give me Super Junior over the Jonas Brothers any day. I mean, look at them. They're so adorable!!! :D This is new, I didn't even know there was another subgroup, but hey, there are 13 of them, how can they have no subgroups? And it's YeSung! It's great to see him because he is probably the least visible member of the group, so it's nice that he's part of this subgroup, and that he's looking great with that hair. :) Scratch that, I love all of their new hairstyles. :) Except SungMin because he's not as cute anymore, but ... okay, I'll shut up.

LEETEUK'S HAIRRRRRRRRRRR! (Both the little ponytail and the shaggy bum look XD)

And since, it's all been just music videos, I'm giving you a cute baby video that's SUUUUUUPER adorable. XD

WRITE OR DIE

All right, all right, I'm writing, okay?

No, not okay. Because I'm sure you're just going to stop writing all of a sudden. Right NOW.

Oh. Whoops. I just did. Haha.

So I'm talking to myself. No big deal. Nothing wrong with talking to myself. I bet loads of people do it. Certainly not just me.

Because, you know, I'm not some weird lunatic. Nope. Not at all.

Of course, crazy people never really admit that they're nuts.

What if I am insane? That would be totally horrible. Can you just imagine what would happen if that was true? My mom would cry her eyes out, wondering how she failed as a mother. My dad, on the other hand, would be in total denial. I can hear him, "NO! My daughter is not insane! How dare you insinuate anything so terrible???" And my sister would be like, "Oh cool. My sister's nuts. Now I have the entire room to myself."

No, I don't think my sister's that evil. Maybe now, but not when I'm actually, truly insane. If it ever reaches that point, I think my sister will look at me with sad eyes, shake her head and say, "It's such a pity."

Yup.

Now, you know. I just realized that I actually AM writing. A lot of blathering nonsense, sure, but I still am writing! Isn't that just totally awesome? IT IS!

I think.

But all this writing doesn't mean anything. And I'm not going to be a #1 New York Times Bestselling author if I continue writing useless things without a clearly set goal in front of me. Well, being a #1 New York Times Bestselling author is probably the clearest a goal can get, but you know, writing like this won't catapult me to that list even if I do it for 24 hours straight.

Will it?

I mean, it's just been 9 minutes or so and I have 310 words so far.

Isn't that just beautiful?

Anyway. I'm tired. Bye now.

*This is only slightly autobiographical and is not really an actual true-to-life blog post. (After all, I highly doubt my mom or my dad or my sister would actually do those things.) I was just bored and I decided to try out this cool thingy called "Write or Die" where I'm forced to write, and if I don't write, I could actually have bits of the stuff I write unwrite itself. It's so sad that I have to resort to such measures to be inspired to write, but it's actually effective because my 10-minute time limit is already up since a few minutes ago, yet I'm still writing like there's no tomorrow. This is probably the first time I write at breakneck speed (not that any necks will be broken) and I can't say I dislike this. I'll probably be back tomorrow. :)

473 words!

Video dump!

Monday, December 15, 2008

Well, you probably have heard this already, but today (I think) George Bush got a pair of shoes thrown at him. But he ducked. Buti na lang. If it was I, I'd get hit, twice. Haha. :D

And a few months ago, Grace Christian High School College's gym burnt down and a college friend of mine who lives across GCC took a video of it. Grabe boredom ng mga tao haha. It's not a particularly interesting video, but what's funny is the circumstances in which it was taken.

Well, video "dump" dapat ito, kaso lang I still have to study and stuff. So, next time na lang HAHA XD

Yay! Only 10 days till Christmas!

I can't wait... I'll be hopping down to the mini school fair on Saturday. Anybody else going? (Except Candice, haha, todo support sa kapatid ah! :D)

Pero, bago magfair, I have to suffer muna, tomorrow, during which I have:

  1. Theo consultation
  2. Spanish evaluation test
  3. Accounting long exam
Fun huh? But at least, after tomorrow, I'm freeeee! Hurrah!

Haha XD

Anyway. My dearest neighbor Gilbert made this video... super amazing! He drew each slide manually, and the whole vid contains about 87 pictures for 34 seconds.... Galing! (And bored, haha.)

Hurray for Gilbert! :)

sabi kasi ni bernadee na gusto nya ung beef ramen ng sumo boyz

kaya gagawa rin ako ng list ng mga favorite foods ko sa ateneo :D (nainggit ako eh hahaha)

  1. Sisig Rice (Bento)
  2. Thai Bagoong Rice (Bento)
  3. Shepherd's Pie (Bento) (This isn't even really pie, just beef and mashed potatoes)
  4. Turon (AMPC)
  5. Avocado Shake (AMPC) (The other flavors are okay too, but avocado is the best for me!)
  6. Cheeseburger (AMPC) (With or without bacon. Depende kung nagtitipid ka :D)
  7. Hotdog Sandwich (AMPC) (Extra mustard, mayo and ketchup!)
  8. Yema (AMPC) (Ultimate baon sa accounting! Haha!)
  9. Blueberry Brownie (AMPC) (Hindi ko na ito nakikita, though)
  10. Italian Meat Sauce Pasta (Healthy Kitchen) (Ok din naman yung ibang sauces :D)
  11. Fish Fillet Meal with Honey Mustard Sauce (Healthy Kitchen) (Honey mustard lang talaga ito, I have never tried the other sauces and I don't think I will. If you don't feel like having fish, pwede ka rin mag chicken strips)
  12. Chicken Wrap (Healthy Kitchen) (Pag nagddiet pero hindi nagtitipid)
  13. Chicken Kebab (Athena's Kitchen) (Buttered rice! Yummy!)
  14. Shawarma Rice (Athena's Kitchen)
  15. Belgian Chocolate Waffle (Waffle Time) (I've never tried sa ibang branch, pero the best cya pag bagong luto. And the ate there is nice haha)
  16. German Cheese Franks Waffle (Waffle Time) (Kapag tagtipid na!)
  17. Chocnut Waffle (Waffle Time) (Hindi ko na rin ito nakikita)
  18. Siomai Rice (Dimsum and Dumplings) (With extra toyo, chili, and kalamansi!)
Caf Up...
  1. Spareribs Rice (Cantonese Dimsum House?) (Yummy!)
  2. London Fog Milk Tea (Bobaloca)
  3. Jasmine Milk Tea (Bobaloca) (I like these two flavors better than others because the fruit flavored ones cover up the taste of the tea and the milk and it ends up tasting like ordinary juice)
  4. Tapa Rice (Rodic's) (Classic breakfast dish, with egg! And don't forget the vinegar!)
  5. Revel Bar, Cookies (Bread Monster) (Although since nagmahal sila last sem, di na ako bumibili masyado... wala nang budget eh!)
SOM Mall
  1. Chicken Nuggets Meal (Chinky Chicken) (cheap and delicious!)
  2. Grilled Chicken Meal (Chinky Chicken) (Hindi pa rin ako nagsasawa dito!)
  3. Hainanese Chicken Rice (Buddha Bean Coffee?) (Pag tinamad na ako sa grilled chicken ng chinky chicken)
  4. Milk Tea (Buddha Bean Coffee?) (Lipton lang daw, pero who cares, masarap naman!)
  5. Chilled Taho (Buddha Bean Coffee?) (Best dessert! Pero nakakasawa pag araw araw)
  6. Any pasta (Blue Aquila) (Konti lang bumibili dito pero masarap cya!)
  7. Saba/Mais con Hielo (Pinoy Bora Burger) (Nakakainggit kasi ung mga taong dumadaan haha)
And of course, Manang's
  1. Grilled liempo (Manang's) (Pag hindi mo pa natry to, hindi ka Atenista! haha!)
Yay! Haha, these are the foods I eat most often, pero since, at the start of my life in Ateneo, sabi ko sa sarili ko, I shall try all the foods in the cafeteria! Kaya, I'm exploring all the other foods kahit di ko masyadong gusto. By the time, I graduate, dapat natry ko na lahat! :D

What have I been up to for the past few days?

  1. Pet Society on Facebook. It's the most addicting thing ever!
  2. Watchmen the graphic novel, lent to me by super Danica! :D Thank you, Danica! It's a great book. :) There's a movie coming up, too, so it's just in time. :)
Ano pa ba? Wala na! I wasted my time with that game on Facebook! Haha... nagsisink in na ung loserness ko haha XD

STAAAAALKER!!!

Monday, November 17, 2008

I can't believe it took me this long to have seen it but I just visited Chris Tiu's Blog and wala. Haha. Natawa lang ako kasi ang funny ng blog nya. Not that it's intentionally funny or anything, pero pinromote nya sarili nya sa Kid's Choice Awards (vote for him daw! HAHA) You can vote infinite times, as far as I know (which is not far, seeing as I only voted twice. TWICE LANG, OKAY???)

Ang laaaaaaame HAHA (I mean, of course, ako ung lame, not the golden boy)

May picture pa cya of himself sa Great Wall of China, tapos magazine picture of the entire basketball team in suits. How often do you see that? Cyempre, wala nman akong kilala sa team other than Chris Tiu so hinanap ko pa talaga cya. And, yes, he does look good in a suit. (Blurry din yung pic eh, but you know, blurry Chris Tiu is better than no Chris Tiu)

Huy, mag obsess din kayo hahahahaha XD It's HEALTHY, okay?

More movies! Kahit pasukan na :D

Sunday, November 16, 2008

  1. Penelope - must watch! I love it to bits. It's so pretty, the story is so adorable. It's something like a fairy tale except more modern. AND James McAvoy (Wanted, Atonement) is in it, and it's worth watching just to see him so completely different from how he was in Wanted and in Atonement. The movie also stars Christina Ricci, who I haven't seen in quite a while and she's actually grown prettier. Another thing I loved about the movie is the fanciful quality to it, such as in the use of colors, as in movies like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Big Fish, and others.
  2. Mamma Mia - It's a musical. It's nice, I guess. The message was nice, you know, mother-daughter thing, blah blah blah. I particularly love the songs, I do love ABBA, even though they're, like, old. Pierce Brosnan's singing is horrible! Buti na lang gwapo cya hahahahaha...

Wala nga palang pasok bukas kasi faculty day. Wheeeeee! :D No theo! :D

2nd Sem First Post Part 3 (Last part)

That's so dumb. Why did I even name it "First post" anyway when I originally planned it for 3 parts??? DUUUMB!

Moving on. Ang class ko lang naman today na first time magmemeet ay Law. I don't like Law. More because it's 6-9 than because of the content. That's 6-9 pm, mind you. Thankfully, first day, so maaga kami pinaalis. Thankfully din, kaklase ko si Maia, so I got a ride home. :D Our teacher seems nice, and he's fun and he tells interesting stories. which is good, of course. He tells relevant interesting stories naman, unlike certain, um, teachers. Ahem.

The only un-nice thing about Law (other than the time, which I realize I don't care about anymore after ranting about it to practically everyone I know) is that I have to buy books for it. 2 of them. 2 boring Law books. I guess I have to be thankful that they're small books, and are thus not very heavy. Unlike my Accounting book and last sem's Stat book, both of which were probably meant to break student shoulders.

Looks like a good sem ahead so far. :D

!Hola! Buenas tardes. ?Como estas? (Here, you say "Bien. Gracias. ?Y tu?") Bien.

Translation: Hello! Good afternoon! How are you? (You: Well. Thank you. And you?) Good.

Wala lang. Spanish is fun. :D I have yet to learn how to insert inverted !'s and ?'s . :)

Que hora es? Son las diez y twenty. I have no idea how to count in Spanish. Geez.

Uno dos tres cuatro cinco _____________ ocho (How do i spell that???)

I'll be back. :)

H pa ako!

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

YES! I'm like, genuinely happy about this, okay? I'm going to work really hard for it. It's kind of my only goal in college, so if I fail at it, then I'm a major loser.

12 na lang kami. We started out at 64, then naging 35 after people started shifting out in the first sem of second year. Then, 20 ang natanggal dahil sa accounting, 2 sa statistics. 1 shifted out. So now, 12 na lang kami.

Still, it's sad. I'm happy dahil pasok ako, pero I'm sad that I'm no longer with my blockmates in major subjects. Magkasama pa rin naman kami sa ibang subjects, and I'm happy about that, pero ang lungkot naman ng accounting pag 12 lang kayo. Tapos isa pa dun si... never mind.

So, well. There. I realized I haven't posted anything about this, so just to let you guys have a head's up. H pa ako. :)

Do you have any idea what I'm blabbering on about?

BERNADEE! Ang galing galing mo! ^_^

2nd Sem First Post Part 2

Technically, second post, but who cares?

First class: Sociology and Anthropology. Wala, nagdiscuss ng syllabus. Boring. Mukhang ok naman ung teacher, Villasenor, but I really can't tell.

Second class: Spanish. Ang hiiiiiina ng boses ng teacher. Interesting, maraming alam. May pagkaboring. Di ko rin napipick up masyado ung mga Spanish phrases kasi nga ang hina ng boses. I'll be speaking sucky Spanish by the end of the sem. Whoopee.

Third class: Accounting. Wala si Ibarra. May substitute, si Sandoval. Nagturo. Ang liit ng sulat, grabe! Ang dami dami pa! Wala akong notes. Bulag kasi ako. Nakinig na lang ako kasi good girl ako.

Di ko pa tapos Theo paper ko, due tomorrow. Yay!!!!!

2nd Sem First Post Part 1

Monday, November 10, 2008

Sooo today, I had Wushu, Theology, and Economics.

Wushu was okay. Actually, it was kind of a waste of time. We were told to interview ALL 21 OF OUR CLASSMATES and fill up a form. So much for free cut. :(

Theo. Wow. Why am I not thrilled about Theo. Let me count the reasons:

  1. Bring your personal copy of the Bible. NEW AMERICAN BIBLE, NEW CATHOLIC TRANSLATION ONLY! NO NIV! (Me: Noooooooo)
  2. Photocopy all articles in the reserve shelf in the Library. (Note, hindi po ako ang nag underline. Kinopya ko lang.)
  3. ID pic (Wala na akong ID pic. Whoopee.)
  4. Read Jimenez, "What is Doing Theology All About?" Red/Blue Textbook (And I have that textbook right here. Thank you Gilbert! :D)
  5. Read Mark 1, 2 (That's right, the BIBLE. FYI, binasa ko na rin pati Mark 3 and 4 haha)
  6. Reflection Paper 1-2 pages (FIRST DAY HELLOOOO)
  7. And last but not the least, QUIZ ON WEDNESDAY. About what. All of the above.
Hurrah.

Economics. Wala. Sabi ni Isen okay daw ung teacher. It seems like it. Hopefully I'll do great in this subject.

No, scratch that. Hopefully I'll do great in ALL my subjects! In fact, I'll get an A in all of them! How's that for positive thinking???

Today's the last day of sem break.

Sunday, November 9, 2008

I watched Wall-E!!!! :D It was sooo cute. I loved it so much. Haha, wala talaga akong masabi! It's a lot lot better than Ratatouille, which is great, but Wall-E is love. :) Yun lang. Haha. Natuwa ako, obvious ba?

More movies!

Saturday, November 8, 2008

I changed my schedule. I'm taking Spanish now, instead of Chinese. :D

Moving on.

  1. Made of Honor - I loved this movie. It was actually pretty nice. :) And I do like Patrick Dempsey. In fact, my sister is watching it right now as I type. Although I've seen it already. :D
  2. The Pink Panther - A fun, fun movie. It was funny! I laughed out loud at several occasions and I don't do that very much.
  3. Ocean's Thirteen - I'm not very descriptive, really. I liked this movie, too. It was a cool movie. I enjoyed the first one, "Ocean's Eleven", but this one is also great.
  4. Get Smart - Funny, but not the best movie ever. I have missed Anne Hathaway since Princess Diaries, but she didn't really do much in the movie except try to look cool. Which she did with success, but it's not much. Steve Carrell is okay. I didn't like him so much, though.

Movies!

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

  1. Hana Kimi SP - Not a movie, but worth mentioning. IT'S SO AWESOME! It makes me want to cry knowing that it's over, and there's not going to be any more Nakatsu. Sano is just a cold-hearted emo high jumping dude. Nakatsu is the cutest, most adorable character EVER. And nothing happens to him! He doesn't even hook up with Julia. Why? WHY???
  2. Tinkerbell - It's an animated Disney movie! Whoopee! About Tinkerbell. Her story, and stuff. It's just a kid's story, almost exactly like every single movie made by Disney, really. But 3D. Yup. That's about it. The animation is nice, the fairies are lovely, and the big name voice actors are cool, but there's nothing really special about it.
  3. Sydney White - Amanda Bynes! I love her, I really do. And I love Sara Paxton too. But this movie has to be the lamest, most cliche movie ever made.
  4. Atonement - This is the only decent movie I watched. It was sad. And well, Danica told me the basic idea of the movie before I watched it. Not that it's not a great movie. It is. Briony has to be my favorite character. AND it's especially funny because I just saw that guy in Wanted before I watched this movie, so well. You know, I'm used to him killing people and everything. Hahaha. Funny. Hah. Hm. (I just read in Wikipedia that it won best original score. It has a GREAT score. It's worth watching the movie just for the score. It's that good.) Medyo nasawa rin ako sa baba ni Keira Knightley. Haha.
  5. Just My Luck - Lindsay Lohan. Yup. I like Amanda Bynes a lot better than I like Lindsay Lohan. I think Lindsay Lohan's acting is so fake. I do like the movie and it's very silly, ridiculous plot, but Lindsay Lohan is just plain annoying. I'm sorry, Lindsay, I loved you in Parent Trap, and in Freaky Friday, and in all those other movies. But I just saw Lindsay Lohan in those movies and not Anna or Ashley or whoever. Jamie Lee Curtis did a better job acting like you than you did acting like her. Um. Sorry.
More movies to come before sem break ends next Monday!

Yay! It's my pretty schedule!

Don't you see? It's so pretty! With all the rainbow colors and stuff.

Okay, I'll just go ahead and copy paste everything I said on Multiply.

Oh. Haha. I mentioned the rainbow colors on Multiply din pala. XD I'm such a dork.

I have half days on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays, which is great, but then lookie here, what have we got on Thursday? 6-9 pm class? Augh.

ACC 30 - Accounting 30. The reason I'm not complaining about this even though it's 3 hours straight is that Ibarra is leaving around January so we won't have accounting anymore by then. Except if that happens, I'm going to have to wait 6 hours every Thursday for Law. Whoopee!
FLC 1SP - Ooh. So I didn't take up Chinese or Japanese anymore. I took Spanish. Well, hope for the best! :)
EC 102 - Eco, I think. I don't know anything about this, really.
LAW 11 - Yes, the most beloved class of all. I should really be happy because it's once a week, but I'm not. So much for being an optimist. I'm dreading it, actually.
NSTP 2(LTS) - Same as last sem. No big deal.
PE 139 - Wushu. HAHAHAHA.
SA 21 - Sociology/Anthropology. Is this a fun class? I don't know either.
TH 121 - Theology. Blah.

I'm tired just going over my schedule. Comments anyone? Any terror teachers I'll be taking that I should be aware of? Or any classes that I will surely, surely love? Haha. I appreciate it when you take the time to leave a comment or something, just so I can have a heads up on what my next semester is going to be like. Thanks :)

It's my sister's birthday!

Happy birthday, Cheryl! :) HUG!

Monday, November 3, 2008

Wala pa akong sched. I'll upload it soon. Di pa kasi nafinalize eh :)

Whee~!

Thursday, October 30, 2008

High School Musical 3 was fun! The songs were great, especially. It was worth the P150 at SM Manila. :) It's actually kind of sad that the cast is moving on, and everything. New characters were introduced but nobody can replace the original cast. As much as I hate Troy and Gabriella, they're already part of the franchise. I will especially miss Sharpay and Ryan, as they, in my opinion, are the best characters in the entire series. It's a great movie to watch if you're bored. It made me miss high school... (as if I don't miss high school almost every single day in college).

Anyway, moving on.

Stat grades are up. B ako. B AKO!!!!!!! YAY!

I'm just really happy I didn't get a C+. Because that would mean I'm on probation for my course. Which means, another C+ and it's goodbye, BMH. Sad, yes. but as of now, I'm safe. Whoopee! :D

Movies? None. Except, of course, HSM3. I watched Galileo nonstop. It's the best show eveeeer! (Di ko pa pala napapanood special ng Hana Kimi. Wah!)

Guess who's going to watch High School Musical 3 tomorrow?

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Yup.

I don't know why I'm all hyped up for it. I'm not even in high school anymore. I didn't even like High School Musical 2.

Tsk. Peer pressure.

Besides, I'm almost an entire week late!

(I love Sharpay's dress in the posters. Don't you?)

Anyway, moving on.

Movies.......

  1. 27 Dresses - James Marsden is really cute. I don't know. He's not gorgeous or anything, he's just really cute. >.< style="font-style: italic;">the boss guy kisses Jane and they don't "feel" anything or whatever. I've always hated scenes like that. They just always seem so fake. *end of spoilers* And some of the bridesmaid dresses were actually pretty!
  2. Enchanted - Again. I know. I just love it to bits. And it's James Marsden! Again! And when I watch X-Men, it's him! Again! He's everywhere! Hah.
Actually that's it. I spent all my other time watching this Japanese drama called Galileo. It's a really smart drama. And playing this video game called Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime about a slime that bounces around with his Elasto-Blast. Yeah. It's actually a pretty cool game, mind you.

Hana Kimi SP is out! Ages ago! And I haven't watched it yet!!! AAAHHH!!!

Stupid stupid stupid MAGIS!!

Saturday, October 25, 2008

No, I'm not saying this about Magis or the spirit of doing more encouraged in the Ateneo, but MAGIS that TUTORIAL CENTER who keeps e-mailing stuff, blowing their own horns. They're so STUPID! I've been ranting about this for some time now, to other people but I'm just so so annoyed.

And they're liars. Like, seriously. I was a first-hand victim of their lies. NO I didn't enroll in Magis. AND YOU SHOULDN'T TOO! I would totally send them a long angry e-mail, but you know, I have better things to do with my time. Like, play Spore. Whee!

So, if you're an Atenean (or even if you're from any other school), NEVER EVER enroll in Magis. They suck. I know, I asked around for more (information).

Pfft.

Sorry for all the anger, and everything. So much for the cute new template.

Yay! New Template!

I was getting sick of seeing nothing but my cartoony face and text text text all over my blog, so there you go! A cutesy little template for my blog, so you'll feel like visiting my blog even more! Haha! I'm brilliant, I know. XD

The Spore download is finished! Ha! I shall now go and play! XD

It's that time during the sem break...

...when you've already gone out with all your "barkadas" and you have nothing to do but bum around at home. At least, for most of us who aren't rich enough to go on vacation. But really, this is, for me, the ultimate best part of sem break. This is when you feel like time is of no importance, and you can just go and bum around for the rest of your life. This must be what heaven is like.

But, moving on, I've been trying to make good use of my sem break by catching up on my movies (as I mentioned a few posts ago). And, here are the movies I've seen this week and bite-sized reviews to go with them:

  1. Perfume: The Story of a Murderer - It's an artsy film. I usually don't like films like these that are really graphic for art's sake, but my dad said this was a really great movie, so I watched it along with my family. It's... okay. The plot is pretty good, but somehow I would enjoy more as a novel than as a movie (because nga, it's not a movie for kids like me). Worth watching if you're not easily disturbed.
  2. Journey to the Center of the Earth - Funny, I guess, but Brendan Fraser's old. Too old for his leading lady (aww.) I haven't read the book, so I can't make comparisons, but I think they did a decent job. :)
  3. Mr. and Mrs. Smith - It's a great movie. And it's cool. Yup, that's always a plus for me. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie do suit each other, but still it's not nice to break up other people's families. Boo. Anyway, the movie IS good, great plot, great directing. :D It's funny too.
  4. Step Up 2: The Streets - It's weird how I watched Step Up 2 before I watched Step Up 1. Si Abi kasi eh. But anyway, it's another cool movie. I loved the dancing and stuff. I especially love the climactic dance sequence. With the rain and everything. COOOL. XD Also, better looking leads than the first one! XD
  5. Step Up - Yeah. Dancing. This is less street dancing than the second one, more on classical, I think. I wouldn't really know. The lead looks like a goon, and the girl isn't very pretty. But it's okay. :D
  6. The Holiday - See? I followed my list! Anyway, comments about the movie. Jude Law is gorgeous, and I love his accent (is he really British?) and it's sad how the only movie I ever saw with him in it (AI) made him look ugly. X( Cameron Diaz is fine, but she doesn't seem to change roles. she's always the ditzy, perky blonde girl. isn't she? Kate Winslet is not very pretty but she's great in the role. She reminds me of Emma Thompson, not the most beautiful woman in the world but she has that aura about her. Jack Black is great, but there's not enough of him in the movie! In fact, there's very little. I especially love the character of Arthur Abbott (the old writer dude) and his relationship with Kate Winslet. It's very sweet. :) (Dustin Hoffman's cameo is funny. He looked like he just happened to be there.)
  7. What Happens in Vegas - So now you understand why I'm kind of sick of Cameron Diaz. But I'm not sick of Ashton Kutcher as I have never seen him in a movie. The movie is okay. It's not a great movie, but it's funny and entertains. That's the point of a movie, isn't it?
And now I shall go watch some more movies! Yay! :D

Lumabas na grades sa AISIS!

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

Nung isang araw pa, actually, but I was too busy enjoying sembreak to post.

Anyway:

  • Jsp1 - A (Ventura)
  • Psy101 - A (Librojo)

  • Fil14 - B+ (Pamintuan)

Anyway, ang bagal ng internet. Magrerecommend na lang ako ng mga Japanese dramas. Sem break naman eh! :D

Remember last year, around this time, I joined this thingy called NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month. It takes all November and the goal is to be able to write a novel of 50000 in the span of 30 days.

Well, it's not impossible. But the question is, can I do it? Me, the queen of procrastination?

We'll see about that. :)

I'm kind of more determined this year that I was last year (I think) so I decide to make an outline. Just so the plot doesn't just wither away in my head. They do that, you know. (Plots, I mean.)

I'll be doing a romance-comedy because I think I have the most experience here. I read loads of them and I happen to write (at least, attempt to) them more than any other genre.

For inspiration, I'm going to watch movies of the same genre! In fact, I have a couple of movies in that genre lining up for me to watch:

  1. Made of Honor (I've heard this isn't that good of a movie, but Patrick Dempsey is in it, and judging by Krizia's obsession and his performance in Enchanted (haha nauna pa obsession ni Krizia. Gusto mo pa rin ba cya?), it'll be worth two hours of my life.)
  2. 27 Dresses
  3. The Holiday
  4. What Happens in Vegas
  5. And more...
Recommendations, anyone?

ketchup and mustard... mmmm...

CAF!

the solution to all our problems!

AMPC is now open! oo! kahit sem break!

don't you want to tremble in happiness?

ngunit walang hotdog. let us now awww in unison...

AWWW...

Disclaimer: Hindi nakababaliw ang Ateneo. It really is just me. :)

YES di pa ako sem break dahil sa stat project namin... lend us a hand? this survey is for first and fourth year som students. I will be eternally grateful if you could answer it and pass it around. pag di ka first year/fourth year som student wag mo sagutan, haha XD magkakaerror ang aming study. THANK YOU!

I'm so tired.

I don't mean tired physically. My brain is fried. I'm upset over a lot of things. Of course, there are a lot of things to be happy about, such as for example, Ateneo winning the men's basketball division of UAAP (and I AM happy about that). But I'm just really, really, really tired.

This is most definitely not the time for me to be tired, what with finals week coming up, long tests, papers, oral exams in abundance. And on Monday, our beloved dean has decided to schedule a make-up class at 6-9 pm. Never mind the fact that I have a Filipino long test and a Sci10 (Science and Society) oral exam.

I recently drew a children's storybook for our Psychology project. I'll upload it on Multiply so everyone can see it. I'm really really proud of it. I didn't write the text, it was a group effort by my group mates and me... Look forward to that. :)

Movies! Yay! I've been watching a lot of them, my father recently discovered torrents. And he's downloaded about a hundred movies... it's so nice to be him. I watched Spiderwick Chronicles last night, and a dozen more movies I don't remember.... Spiderwick Chronicles... maganda story, pangit acting. Freddie Highmore, his acting isn't all that great. He was better in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Even the old grandma wasn't good! Yung sister, si Mallory, mas okay pa acting niya...

That's all. Oh, nagka-earthquake kanina. Dalawa. Natalo tuloy ako sa game na nilalaro ko.

Aww, it's an emo poem...

Sunday, September 14, 2008

This poem is called "The Square Root of Three", written by David Feinberg. It was featured in the movie "Harold and Kumar: Escape from Guantanamo Bay", but I haven't seen the movie. Nor do I plan to, but anyway. Enjoy the poem! :)

I fear that I will always be
A lonely number like root three
The three is all that’s good and right,
Why must my three keep out of sight
Beneath the vicious square root sign,
I wish instead I were a nine
For nine could thwart this evil trick,
with just some quick arithmetic

I know I’ll never see the sun, as 1.7321
Such is my reality, a sad irrationality

When hark! What is this I see,
Another square root of a three
Has quietly come waltzing by,
Together now we multiply
To form a number we prefer,
Rejoicing as an integer

We break free from our mortal bonds
With the wave of magic wands

Our square root signs become unglued
Your love for me has been renewed

SOM Week ngayon. As usual wala akong sinalihan na activity (though I AM planning on joining something soon). College has rendered me useless.

I watched 21 last night. It was a cool movie B-) (sabi ng friends ko nerd daw yan. hoy hindi noh, COOL yan! B-) ) Yes, but it wasn't really as much of a geek movie as I would like. BASTA. I liked it. :)

Sunday, August 31, 2008

hoyeah, I do have something to blog about.

I watched Ratatouille!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Yeah, like totally. Hohohohohohoho.

It's actually rather, um, overrated. BUT IT'S STILL A COOL MOVIE!

Ang cute ni Remy at ni Emile pag basa :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Hindi ako hyper. Depressed ako. Kasi, you know, accounting nga bukas!!!! HELLO???? Halata naman na SAD ako di ba?

Mehehehehehe... -> evil laugh yan okay.

3rd Accounting Exam tomorrow.

Walang pasok bukas!!!!!! (kasi sabi ko :P Don't you know I rule the world?)

Am I too happy?

Friday, August 22, 2008

The other day, we had a quiz in accounting. Almost the entire class, including me, did poorly in it. In fact, I think I got only 1 or 2 points right, and it's a 14 point quiz. So well, a lot of my classmates were upset, and so was I, but only for a while. After about 15 minutes, I was up and hyper again, even though most of my classmates were still worrying about the quiz.

I don't really know why I'm not upset. I should be, because accounting is a major subject for my course, and getting a C+ would mean that I'll be on probation (meaning I'll be about to get kicked out of my course). And I know it's not because I've had fairly good scores for the long exams, because even in Statistics, I don't dwell on past exams for too long. I only take the time to learn from my mistakes, and understand what I did wrong and that was it. I wouldn't spend weeks obsessing over the tiniest details. And my grades in Statistics are not high. Well at least, they're not low enough to get me kicked out of (as Ma'm VCI would say it) ECH. Yet.

I'm lost. What was I talking about again? Oh yeah.

So why am I happy all the time although I have better things to worry about? I don't know!

Wait. I know now. I have a short attention span. So I can't get it into my head to worry about one thing for a long time. In fact, I can't even finish a single blog post without losing interest.

I'm such a loser. *selfpityselfpityselfpityselfpity*

whoa! iba na hitsura ng blogger!

anyway, over the 4 day weekend (QC day din kasi today), I managed to watch 3 movies! :)

  1. Enchanted - sa house ni Dianne. I LOVE IT!!!! Ang cute ni Amy Adams, ang gwapo ni Patrick Dempsey, ang cute ni James Marsden. And I can't get the song "That's How You Know" out of my head. BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!! (Bwahaha! Nababaliw!)
  2. The Prestige - today lang to, sa HBO. It's a very cool movie. PLUS it stars Christian Bale AND Hugh Jackman. Why would I not watch it, di ba? Haha labo. It's really well made, and the plot is great. Di ko madescribe. It's one of those weird movies that you won't understand at first. Also, the ending is just so bizarre but clears up so many things that it makes it all worthwhile. :) Read up on it on Wikipedia!
  3. Evan Almighty - right after The Prestige on HBO haha. It's a nice movie to watch and I like how it's about a Bible story but it doesn't make fun of it. There's just too many flaws and it makes too little sense so I can't say it's a good movie. Also, it reminds me too much of the movie "Santa Clause" (ESPECIALLY the beard thing).
  4. The Flintstones - I know I said 3 movies, but this one I watched nung Friday or Saturday, I can't remember. And naalala ko kasi Fred in this movie was in Evan Almighty so all throughout the movie I kept imagining the actor as Fred haha XD wala lang. I missed the cartoons, and although I didn't catch the first part of the movie, I loved how the redid the opening (apparently) and closing segments in live action. Lalo na ung may "WIIIILMAAAA!" Haha! Maybe next time they can do The Jetsons!
And that's all I accomplished over the 4 day weekend. *bow*

They're making a stop-motion movie of Coraline....

Yay!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Do you guys know any nice entertaining online games na hindi kailangang idownload? I'm currently highly addicted to well made room escape games (na HINDI horror) so, well, i'm sick of neutral's room escape games as I've played all of them at least three times each already. :D Kahit ibang puzzle games na hindi boring (no match-3 games please). haha. :D

yun lang. thank you. :)

IF YOU DID NOT WATCH THE OPENING OF THE BEIJING OLYMPICS BECAUSE...

  1. You were watching Princess Diaries on Disney Channel like my cousin; or,
  2. You were watching Happy Feet on HBO like my other cousin,
  3. You were watching anything else other than the opening of the Beijing Olympics, then

You are a sad, deprived, lonely person. Boo.

(I know this is a late post. I'm sorry. And kung may naoffend, sorry din. Well actually no, what were you thinking, not watching the opening of the Beijing Olympics??)

Stat Blues

I really don't understand why previous BMH batches complain about accounting, and none of them seem to actually worry about Stat. I, personally, think accounting is a lot more understandable than Stat.

I hate Stat. >.<

In other news, our sensei wants us to write a blog entry in Japanese using simple sentences. But she's not assigning us to do it yet, she just suggested it.

Ano ba magandang ikwento? I want to blog, but I just don't know what to blog about. Wala naman akong nakikitang Science trainers or HS batchmates (other than the handful who go to Ateneo. nagsasawaan na nga kami eh XD)

Nagkaroon pala ng booksale ulit sa De La Costa. I bought a book! (and thus I shall starve for the rest of the week) It's "Sophie's World" by Jostein Gaardner. I started reading it na, and so far, it's pretty good. Parang philosophy for dummies. ^-^ But it makes you think. AND besides, it's shiny! X3 And it's BLUE! X3 X3

gusto ko ng emoticons sa blog mismo. can you do that? I'm too lazy to google and do all those neat CSS thingies that ely does in her blog. Kaya nga generic template na lang ginagamit ko.

In other, other news, I was bored and decided to make up my advisory marks. There ya go.
(Worst Case Scenario na ito... if my actual grades go any lower.............................. XP)

JSP1 = B+ = 3.5 x 3 = 10.5
FIL14 = B = 3 x 3 = 9
PSY101 = B+ = 3.5 x 3 = 10.5
SCI10 = B = 3 x 3 = 9
QMT11 = B = 3 x 3 = 9
ACC10 = B+ = 3.5 x 3 = 10.5
LS10 = B = 3 x 2 = 6

(Who cares about PE and NSTP, di naman kasali sa QPI)
(I'm kind of making up the numbers haha)

Total: 64.5 / 20 units = 3.225

T.T di pa rin DL. :(

(pero! worst case scenario naman to ayon sa akin... kaya tataas pa yan!!!! yeah, go charmaine go!)

Ganyan ang buhay pag nasa ateneo. Hindi basta 3 ang grade point average DL na kaagad.

Kailangan 3+++++!!!!!

That's REAL LIFE!

(I'm bitter haha)

Bakit mahilig sa emo stat messages ang mga tao? Whatever happened to cool, witty stat messages? :(

Sobrang nasasawa na ako sa school..... masaya sana Japanese, kaso it's all the way in Bel. I don't want to walk all the way to Bel in the rain just to attend a 1-hour class...... oh well, at least, it's one subject where I actually learn something. Anata wa kawaii desu. Watashi mo kawaii desu. >.<

Sci10 is fun, but stressful. It's like Histo all over again.

Fil is okay, boring minsan, pero masaya naman. However, it's also all the way in Bel.

Psych is fun. Not as fun as I want it to be, but it's okay :D

To be continued........................ *insert dramatic ending music here*

This Friday

Monday, August 4, 2008

is August 8 2008, aka the opening of the Beijing Olympics.

So anyway, may plan kami ng "Team China" to dress up as the mascots-ay, joke lang, I mean, the colors of the Olympic rings. And I'm green! (Bakit hindi ako ung panda? Hindi ko rin alam. Maganda naman din yung green, kaya ok lang)

Now you see kung anu-anong mga kalokohan ang pinaggagawa ko sa college. Hm. Is that good? You decide................

Wow dramatic parang Dark Knight, which I watched last Saturday with my family. Cool movie! Nakakatakot pero cool. B-)

This isn't a half decent post, and I'm sorry.

Mata ne~!

Nice to meet you! I am Charmaine. Seventeen years old. Please take care of me!

P.S. Can you read the characters? They're just Hiragana because we haven't started learning Kanji yet.

This gorgeousness deserves to be glued to my wall (except my dad would kill me)

I missed them!

Yeah, I did. They came on July 12 and left today. And I didn't even catch a single glimpse of them on TV. Youtube sucks. Or rather, Philippine television sucks because it isn't digital.

If you don't remember, I predicted that this (ABS-CBN making Fahrenheit the next F4, I mean) would happen pretty soon. And it did! :D Next time I'm probably going to be predicting things like earthquakes and stuff, you know?

Today........... nakasabay ko si sean umuwi, with erika (of cksc) and sean's cousin and a bunch of other freshmen including carlo (of grace). wala lang, yun lang. thanks to them, I survived Typhoon Helen. (drama much?) Well, actually, naiwan ko kasi payong ko. Of all the stupid things I could have done, I had to choose the one that would make me sick.

somewhere out there, someone is laughing at us.

Saturday, July 5, 2008

nagka-earthquake drill nung wednesday. nasa CR kami, when the alarm rang. we had no idea. pag labas namin, people were ducking under their desks in the classrooms and laughing at us. it was fun, actually.

I survived Accounting, Statistics, and Psychology in one week. Oh, and a mock debate for Science and Society. Whoopee!

:D

I survived!

Monday, June 30, 2008

Hooray hooray hooray! :D

One down, a few more to go!

Sunday, June 29, 2008

I just watched a short clip of the Hana Yori Dango Final special... it cheered me right up. Now I'm super energized to take on Accounting!!!!

Well, except now I also feel like going to watch HYD2... which, is probably not that good a feeling.

Wish me luck!

Or better yet, pray for me! :D

Trust me, I'm going to need all the support I can get. :)

Japanese Lesson # 4: Hiragana

Saturday, June 28, 2008

I know I'm being lazy. (I was going to link to that picture I once drew of my shoe but I realized Blogger deleted it. X( )

EDIT: I found it! Nandyan pa naman pala lahat ng pics ko. Hehe, sorry for bashing you, Blogger. :D

P.S. Not that Blogger does not deserve the bashing. I mean, why would you put ADS on my BLOG when the people who read my blog would never click on them stupid ads anyway?

And I'm not even getting paid for that.

Have you guys got the same problem? (Like with pop-ups on Blogger?) Or is it just me? Maybe it's just a virus or something.

Good night, and good luck. (Ooh, George Clooney reference right there!)

Definitive proof that I don't blog the way I speak (aside from the fact that I can't speak a single sentence of English without stuttering)

HOORAY FOR ACCOUNTING!

Hooray! Hooray!

HOORAY FOR ACCOUNTING!

Alam nyo ba na ang aking blog ay 2 years old na ang aking blog? (First rule of Fil12: Huwag gumamit ng "ay".)

That's excluding my Friendster blog time. Including that, since yesterday June 24, I've been blogging for THREE YEARS! (and 1 day ;) )

That's a lot of words... :)

I guess, in a way, I'm proud of that achievement, but I would love to be able to reach more people. Posting to Multiply didn't make that happen... Kaya pala ako sumali sa AJMA (Ateneo Junior Marketing Association), para ma-market ko ang aking beloved blog.

To all the people who have been reading my blog ever since: THANK YOU SO MUCH! Without you guys, I'd probably have stopped doing this ages ago. :D:D:D

I love you all! >:D<

i don't know if i should be happy or sad.

akala ko may pasok.

kaya ako nasa harapan ng computer ngayon, naka rubber shoes pa nga, ready to go to school.

man, i should have just turned on the computer last night, kahit na tulog na silang lahat...

oh well, time to do something productive (read: play games to pass the time)

The Unwiritten Rules of Room Escape Games

Sunday, June 22, 2008

  1. There is always something hidden under any piece of furniture.
  2. There is always something hidden under the pillows, sheets or cushions of beds and sofas.
  3. There is always something hidden under curtain and carpets.
  4. There is always something hidden in the trash can.
  5. There is always something hidden in the ceiling lamp and/or potted plant.
  6. There is always a note with a vital clue, and it is often ripped into two.
  7. When a key is found, try it out on every single keyhole.
  8. Walls are always a uniform color and, more often than not, the color reflects the name of the room/game.
  9. Paintings are a vital clue.
  10. Nobody knows why you're locked up in a room. (Although some games provide a reason, they are rare.)

I'd give links of games but i'm too lazy to do so. Some of the best room escape games I've played, though, are Mystery of Time and Space (or Motas), and Sphere, RGB and Vision (all three are made by neutral). Just Google them.

Enjoy!

so, ano ba?

may pasok ba wala?

matutulog na ba ako o mamaya na?

come on, make up your mind already!

moral of the story: matulog nang maaga, may pasok man o wala.

but of course, nobody actually follows that rule. :)

oo na, gaya gaya na ako

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

nag sign up ako for twitter, and using a gateway thingy, i can update using my cellphone... it's not for free but it's cheaper than, say, sending a message to other countries.

i'm alive-r!

Tuesday, June 17, 2008

because our monitor is back.

however, i no longer feel the first week rush, so i can't blog about that now... basta, alam ko lang, pamatay ang accounting.

i should go do something productive now. ;)

kanina pala nakita ko si jamie... hehe wala lang first time ko cya makita since the start of school. i've seen maysheen, sean, and bernadee so far... nakita ko rin sina robyn the sister of raisa, rhome the cousin of raisa, rcliza's sister... hm, meron pa ba? but anyway, it was nice meeting them/you and feel free to ask me anything about school! haha :D

btw, pag may maingay sa caf, blue babble lang yun. >_<

OH! it's recweek! join CELADON! and join AMA (Ateneo Management Association pag management ka)! and join AMS (Ateneo Math Society on which SMS was based)! And if you want more orgs, join AJMA (di ako member pero sabi ng friends ko okay daw. i might join. i'm still contemplating haha)

I'm alive!!!

Friday, June 13, 2008

look, my teacher has a wordpress account. http://francesvega.wordpress.com/

actually, i'm just doing that so I can click on that link whenever i visit my blog. para di ko na i-type.

i'm on a public computer (meaning matteo) because the monitor of the computer at home is MIA (well, not really. pina-repair lang naman.)

SO how was your first week of college?

Mine was fun. But it was last year. This week has been hell.

I'll list down the reasons when our monitor comes home. As for now, I'm logging out.

Monday, June 9, 2008

give my wordpress blog some love... haha... lonely cya eh. :D i'm not moving or anything though. i like this blog. :D

4. Proposal Daisakusen
3. One Pound Gospel
2. Hanazakari no Kimitachi e
1. Nobuta wo Produce

Runners-up: Gokusen 1 & 2, Liar Game, Hana Yori Dango

Special Mention: Yuuki (which is not a drama but a TV movie... and it's sad. :( )

Nung una dapat top 10 pero mga 12 lang pala napanood ko...

but anyway that's the top 5! pag mas marami na napanood ko gagawa ako top 10 haha :D

oh and once i finish Zettai Kareshi, i'm pretty sure it'll make the list. :D

Bananas

Thursday, June 5, 2008

I just ate 2 bananas for dessert. Bananas are nutritious and delicious.

At least, according to Ooh and Aah.

If you have no idea what I just said, you need to watch more Playhouse Disney.

Wednesday, June 4, 2008

nagbayad ako ng tuition kanina...

i feel poor now.

i reposted a one-shot on Fanfiction.net :D it's Inuyasha, of all things. I don't even watch Inuyasha. :)) http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4299691/1/Off_Guard

I've even got Naruto stuff up, even though I know nothing about Naruto... haha. I'm a loser XD

Japanese Lesson # 3: Food Part 2

Saturday, May 31, 2008

As I said in the last lesson, this post will be all about sushi. :D

When you go to Japanese restaurants, you notice that there are lots of different kinds of sushi, and that's what I'll be discussing first.

Common Types of Sushi in the Philippines: (I'm not including obscure sushi that are common elsewhere but not here)

  1. Nigiri-zushi - this is common in Jap. restaurants here in the Philippines. Nigiri-zushi is simply a topping (like a slice of raw fish, or tamagoyaki) placed on top of sushi rice.
  2. Maki-zushi (roll) - MAKI 巻 means roll, and can actually apply to any kind of roll (like spring rolls). Obviously maki is called maki because it IS a roll. It's commonly made with an outer layer of NORI 海苔 or seaweed, sushi rice and some topping in the middle.
    • Temaki 手巻き - literally means hand rolls. In this case, it's a piece of NORI rolled into a conical shape, filled with sushi rice and topping.
    • Futomaki 太巻き - literally large rolls. It's basically just giant maki. In One Pound Gospel, Kousaku tries to eat one of these. :D
    • Hosomaki 細巻き - literally thin rolls. This is the common type of maki with nori on the outside and sushi rice and topping inside.
      • Kappamaki 河童巻き - cucumber hosomaki. Called "Kappa" which is a Japanese legendary creature that likes to eat cucumber. (In the Harvest Moon for GBA, if you throw cucumber in the lake, a kappa appears. In the girl version of the game, you can even marry the kappa. XD)
    • Uramaki 裏巻き - According to Wikipedia, literally inside-out rolls. An example of this is California Maki, where in the sushi rice is outside rather than inside the nori.
The next part, I will basically just list Japanese terms for ingredients used in sushi. :D
  1. Sushi Meshi - MESHI 飯 means rice. So Sushi Meshi is sushi rice. It's that easy! (It is commonly seasoned with vinegar, sugar, salt and other spices. That's why they taste good!)
  2. Sake - Japanese rice wine. sometimes used to season sushi rice. It's very common, and you can see it in a lot of animes/doramas.
  3. Tamagoyaki 卵焼き - Tamago 卵 means egg, yaki 焼き means grill. Tamagoyaki is grilled egg! Haha not really. It's actually omelette, usually sweetened and seasoned with soy sauce. That's why it's so yummy! Have I ever mentioned that it's my favorite?
  4. Toro - Tuna (there are actually a lot of kinds of tuna. An example is Otoro, which is "fatty tuna" and in Ouran High School Host Club, Haruhi dreams of eating it. :D )
  5. Sake - Salmon (different from Sake the rice wine. sometimes romanized as Shake, in menus I've seen)
  6. Unagi - Eel
  7. Uni - sea urchin (not yummy! it's slimy and brownish and looks like custard... haha)
  8. Tako - octopus (TAKOYAKI 蛸焼 is a dumpling-like thing with octopus in it. There have been a lot of takoyaki stands here in Manila lately, but of course, they put squid and not octopus in them. Tetsu and Minoru in Gokusen (the dorama) make Takoyaki. There is also Takoyaki sold at Le Croissan... haha :D Beware though, sometimes they're panis)
  9. Masago - fish roe (the orange ones you see on California maki)
  10. Shoyuu - soy sauce
  11. Wasabi - uh, wasabi? :D
Special Lesson: ONIGIRI is not sushi, Japanese rice (not sushi rice) molded into a triangular shape, often with a nori "handle" on one side on which you're supposed to hold it. It sometimes is colored into different colors, such as green with nori, or pink with ______ (I forgot. I'll fill the blank in when I remember. It's called Sakura something (this is not a My Boss My Hero reference ;) ), so if you know, please tell me! it's some kind of fish that's dried, sweetened, colored pink and powdered.) Also, a lot of people but nori faces on their onigiri, especially in bento.

BENTO 弁当 is a lunchbox, homemade or store-bought, filled with different foods. Homemade bentos are wrapped in a handkerchief (there's even a special way to wrap the bento box) for the student/worker to take to school/work. The goal of making bento is packing the food together tightly so nothing moves around or spills. Also, people usually enjoy designing the bento and making cute designs on them :D

FURIKAKE is a seasoning consisting of dried and ground fish, sesame seeds, chopped seaweed, sugar, salt, and monosodium glutamate. It's usually used on rice and sometimes on onigiri. :D

^_~

AND THAT'S IT FOR TODAY!

Thanks for reading... this was more of a walkthrough of Japanese food rather than a Japanese lesson, but since the class I'm going to take is "Japanese Language and Culture", I might as well learn more about Japanese "Culture"*ahem food*. :D

As you saw in my last post, I succeeded in getting a slot in the JSP class. Wish me luck!

My sched looks weird

EDIT: I realize that I'm an idiot for posting a schedule that doesn't even say what the acronyms mean.

today is THE DAY

it's the day that will shape the lives of Ateneo sophomores for the rest of their semesters...

it's REG DAY! *insert evil laugh here (no sense, but it kind of fits)*

Anyway, it really IS registrationday, and it really will shape my life for the rest of the semester. I'm blogging now while I'm not mourning over my sucky schedule (and I know it will suck because my random number is 502 and that means I register at 11 am which is the third batch already, and all the good slots will be taken away. Sigh. I never get a decent random number. Oh wait, I did. LAST SUMMER!)

So, yeah. I'm really hoping to get a good NSTP sched.

I'm hungry!!! Because I woke up at 9 am and I immediately turned on the computer then I realized that my time wasn't 10 am as I originally thought, but rather 11 am. so I have 2 more hours....

You know what, I'll be back. I'll just go get some breakfast.

If ever I get to Japan, I want to...

Thursday, May 29, 2008

  1. eat okonomiyaki that I made myself
  2. ogle at plastic food
  3. hoard buy JE photos
  4. hoard buy cute stuff (especially stationery!)
  5. eat tamagoyaki
  6. eat (i eat a lot, don't i?) mochi and ice cream and all other cute japanese desserts (shuu kurimu! --> actually just cream puffs)
  7. go to Akihabara
  8. go to Harajuku (and take stalker photos of all the people)
Oh wait. I don't have a camera.

T_T

Anyway, it's time for Charmaine's Japanese Lessons!

Japanese Lesson # 2: Food
Part 1

Before we actually learn Japanese terms for food, let us learn the most important phrase that should be used when eating (but not in the Philippines, unless you want to look weird).

Itadakimasu! - roughly means "I humbly receive" which one should always say before eating, accompanied by putting hands together in a clapping position while holding chopsticks (the right way!).

Now that that's over, let us now proceed to FOOD!

When it comes to fried food, there is TEMPURA and FURAI. Understand that "furai" is basically just "fry" made to sound Japanese-y. Tempura uses a kind of batter that makes it puffy, while furai is made with the "triumvirate of Japanese frying" (I actually copied that off somewhere I don't remember. in fact, i think i copied it wrong): flour, beaten egg, breadcrumbs. (in short you first cover the food you want to furai (haha) with flour, then dip it into the egg, then cover with breadcrumbs. i have yet to try this)

another food that uses the "triumvirate of Japanese frying" is TONKATSU or breaded porkchop. TON 豚 is pork, and KATSU is chop cutlet. When tonkatsu is served on top of a bowl of rice (usually with a raw egg), it is now called KATSUDON. (DON kind of means "rice bowl" --> more on this later)

By the way, EBI is shrimp. So, EBI TEMPURA is shrimp tempura and EBI FURAI is fried breaded shrimp.

(I'm basically just reading off a Japanese restaurant menu and analyzing what it says.)

GYOZA is dumpling and is actually a Chinese dish (餃子).

Moving on, DONBURI 丼, usually shorted to DON means "rice bowl". There are lots of variations, such as:

GYUDON - beef rice bowl (GYU meaning beef 牛)
OYAKODON - chicken and egg rice bowl (OYA means parent 親, KO means child 子, thus parent and child means chicken and egg. isn't it just brilliant? no? oh. ok.)
BUTADON
豚丼- pork bowl (less used). if you noticed, the character for BUTA 豚 is also read as TON (as in TONKATSU). this is because Japanese kanji are adapted from Chinese characters (okay fine, they really ARE just Chinese characters) and thus have different readings depending on usage.

We now move on to noodles.

RAMEN 拉麺 - a Japanese dish of noodles served in broth that originated in China (copied from Wikipedia) (by the way, these things
which are commonly found in Japanese ramen are actually called Naruto (haha) because Naruto literally means whirlpool and that spiral thing in them probably look like whirlpools. so there :D they're actually fish cakes (not unlike fishballs))

SOBA - a thin noodle made from buckwheat flour. it is common, though, to refer to any thin noodle as soba (YAKI 焼 means grilled, but YAKISOBA doesnt mean grilled soba, but grilled thin noodles! yay!)

UDON 餛飩- a thick wheat-based noodle. (the characters actually mean "wanton" in Chinese. go figure.)

By the way, if you've been to Teriyaki Boy, they serve a dish called GYUYAKINIKUDON 牛焼肉丼. You now know what that means. ^.^

And here ends Part 1 of Charmaine's Japanese Lesson # 2: Food.

(The next part/s will be covering sushi and Japanese desserts!)

Thank you for reading! Once again, feel free to correct me! I don't really know Japanese and am just learning all these from Japanese restaurant menus and Wikipedia.

By the way, in this lesson, I included the kanji for some of the food in this post because I think they would be familiar to you guys. I probably won't do this for other topics though because it isn't as relevant. :D

i watched indiana jones...

and my favorite part was Cate Blanchett's hair.

How I waste my time

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

I finished 3 mangas today.

Pump Up! - a very cute one-shot :D

Taranta Ranta - cute except it had a stupid ending

Ichigo Channel - a very cute 6-volume manga, but it was kind of sappy toward the end

I want to eat cream puffs. XD

One of my favorite comic strips, PreTeena, has ended.

Why??? Why do all the comics I like end so suddenly? :(

Danette has a blog!

Yep yep! :D

http://smilingfroggy.blogs.friendster.com/ze_blog/

you might want to drop by and show some love :D

Saturday, May 24, 2008

for the past few days, I:

  1. finished Phoenix Wright: Trials & Tribulations (Which means I finally finished the whole series! :D)
  2. watched (but haven't finished) "Hello! Miss", a Korean drama starring Lee Da Hae (from "My Girl") and Lee Ji Hoon (from "Wonderful Life")
  3. managed my (virtual) kopitiam (as you saw in my last post. Btw, you can visit that link everyday, I think. :D And I'd be happy if you do so!)
  4. played a lot of useless but time-consuming virtual browser games
  5. downloaded a whole bunch of videos of KAT-TUN that clogged up my sister's hard disk (about 7 GB max XD), so I
  6. burned a few DVDs so I can delete the junk on my sister's computer
And that's how I wasted my life for the past few days.

I've got only about 2 1/2 weeks left till school starts (because school starts on June 10). Why are there classes on June 12??? (you don't have to answer that. we all know why.)

hmm... is there any interesting stuff I can share with you?

Japanese Lesson No. 1! (since I'll be taking (hopefully) Japanese for my Foreign Language class. if for some reason *coughsuckyrandomnumbercough* I fail to get it though, I'll get Basic Chinese so that I'll have at least one easy subject)

DISCLAIMER: I actually do now know Japanese at all other than what I pick up when I watch anime and Jdoramas so well, you can say that I'm making these up. :P

Ohayo Gozaimasu - Good morning
Konnichiwa - Good day (usually Good afternoon, I think, but some people use it for other times of the day)
Konbanwa - Good evening
Oyasuminasai - Good night

Arigato gozaimasu - Thank you very much (As you can see, "gozaimasu" was also used in "Good morning" but I have no idea why it's used in "Thank you very much" too. I'll report back when I find out.)
Sankyu - Thank you (a less formal way of saying thanks (because it's just the Japanese way of saying "Thank you") usually used between friends)
Sayonara - Goodbye (more formal; used for long term separations)
Ja ne - Goodbye (less formal; can be translated as "See you later!")

(Now the next two phrases I'm rather unsure about but I'm kind of interpreting to the best of my ability without external help)

Gomenasai - Sorry
Sumimasen - Sorry/Excuse me
(Sumimasen is "I'm sorry" in the sense that "I'm sorry for causing trouble" so it can be said if you're, for example, calling a busy person's attention. So, they don't really mean the same thing.)

AND THAT'S IT for Charmie's Japanese Lesson! YAY! (Please don't take any of these seriously because while they might be helpful when you're stuck in Japan with no inkling of Japanese at all, they are not accurate translations because I'm kind of doing this for my own benefit as well (I'm trying to record how much (or how little) Japanese I know))

(BTW feel free to correct anything up there that might be wrong because I'd really like to know if I'm making a fool of myself here)

Thanks for reading this very useless post!

EDIT: Anabelle helped me a bit with "Sayonara" and "Ja ne"... :D Thank you, Ana!

Visit my kopitiam!

i actually have no idea is this link works or not, so just try it out... it doesn't work for me but supposedly, it'll work for non-users... so there ya go. :P

i've been keeping busy the past few days, playing these useless little things. haha :)

hiya!

Sunday, May 4, 2008

I really don't know why I keep saying "Hiya!" these past few days...

Anyway, I want to ask you guys a question! (Though I feel like Krizia is the only one who bothers to reply *aherm*)

See, lalabas ako Saturday with my friends and we're kind of sick of San Lazaro, 168, MoA, Ongpin... so, like, where's a nice place to go that's not too far, but still fun? Other than malls, I guess. Because all malls are just the same XD

Yay. That's my question! Sagutan nyo naman ha. :D kahit wala kayong idea haha basta magrespond kayo! :P

it's me again. yay.

Friday, May 2, 2008

hm, yeah.

My "accomplishments" since last time I posted:

  1. Finished a drama called Proposal Daisakusen.
  2. Finished a game called Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice for All
  3. Finished a book called TTYL by Lauren Myracle
That's basically it.

Notice that this post has been deprived of any fangirling, hyper-ness, squealing, and the like. If I included that, you wouldn't want to read this any more. :P Still, I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. :)

Krizia, papalitan ko ba yung link mo sa blog ko?

musings on useless topics

I was just bored (okay, scratch that. I'm never not bored, anyway.)

So, I saw Hana Kimi (the Japanese version) the other day on GMA. It was the last episode and I was all, awww... it's over! Then I started thinking what other JDramas GMA would have in the future and I did a bit of research... apparently, they're getting a whole bunch of old dramas with minimal ikemen... why???

ABS is smarter... I mean, they got Wu Zun and Jiro and I bet they'll be showing Fahrenheit stuff next and trying to squeeze all they can out of the fangirling (just like what they did to F4). Does GMA not understand???

(Nahahawa na ako kay Krizia... frustrating over network wars that have nothing to do with me... :P)

At least I still have DVDs and the internet... without those, my life would be over! (kidding. i won't die, but i'll walk around like a zombie, that's for sure)

sorry about the *sort-of* fangirling. heh.

Tagged by Denice, Cheryl and Richelle :)

Saturday, April 26, 2008

aww i'm so loved haha (feeler ako eh)

I'll just do 8 facts thingy first, okay? (Share na lang kayo, Denice and Cheryl :) )

Share 8 things that your readers don't know about you.
Then at the end you tag 8 other bloggers to keep the fun going.
– Each blogger must post these rules first.
– Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
– Bloggers who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
– At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
– Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

  1. I dont want to tag people anymore... I'm running out of friends. D,:
  2. Um. I don't eat raw fish. Have I mentioned this already?
  3. My favorite sushi is tamago, that sweet yummy egg omelette. :P
  4. I enjoy looking at Korean fashion (for girls I mean. Korean guys dress like gays. *sorry no offense*) especially on those dramas... I don't know if real Koreans dress that way... but nd that is why I'm always on this site... (Oh the girliness!)
  5. My hairstyle evolves a lot... it began with short hair with bangs during my kiddie days until elementary then sometime in Grade 6 I started sporting a ponytail complete with matching headband. In high school I got rid of the hairband (as I remember it. I could be wrong) Then sometime later during 4th year I got around to rebonding my (sabog) hair and let it down. I gave up and went back to ponytails during college though, because I commute and my hair does not keep me any cooler. So there. The history of Charmaine's hair. As if you care. (I'm rhyming, aren't I?)
  6. I read online comics such as Kawaii Not, Nemu-Nemu, and Multiplex.
  7. I'm out of things to saaay!!! I... uh... have this short story I wrote for the Stephenian Voice but sadly, it was never published. It was my pride and joy, too. :( If you're a fictionpress member, feel free to leave a review! :D
  8. I am currently addicted to this song, which happens to be the theme song for Binbo Danshi, an Oguri Shun drama. It's such a nice, warm, happy song. :D Even the rap parts are great! I especially love the lead singer's vocals and the instrumentals... :)
Yay! I'm done with that one!

Next, 10 words that start with R thanks to Richelle! :)

  1. Richelle - haha! she tagged me! :) we share a common love for Japanese anime and dramas... :P
  2. Rainbow - yay! be happy! (no connection haha)
  3. Rich - what I want to be someday...
  4. Ruler - a tool for measuring. Also a person with power over something or someone.
  5. Review - what I should start doing next school year in order to achieve my goal of getting into the DL!
  6. Rice - the staple of Filipino food. According to Krizia, bakit hindi na lang sila magkamote???
  7. Rachelle/Rachel - I know a lot of people named Rachelle or Rachel... :D Hi Rachelle! Hi Rachel!
  8. Rotonda - sabi ni Janine rotonda daw yung Lorenzo Ruiz Plaza. Sabi ko hindi, kasi oval siya. May sense naman, di ba???
  9. Repeat - I don't like repeating myself.
  10. Robles - that place with lots of marble...
I'm all done! Thank you! >:D<

I'm not going to tag anymore for the reason stated above... haha :D

I cooked...

Friday, April 25, 2008

...a cheese omelette.

Omelette du fromage! (Or however it's spelled anyway...)

It was yummy, although a little burnt.

Ask Cheryl if you don't believe me!

10 things that start with the letter F

Tinag ako ni Karen! Yay! Haha, feel ko pa naman dati unloved ako kasi walang nagtatag sa akin pero ngayon alam ko na na loved ako (ang corny ko kasi!)

O sige, letter F daw...

  1. Family! Yay! I love these people, they're the best!
  2. Friends! The best din kayo pero cyempre family first dapat!
  3. Fangirl - That's me! (joke lang, i'm not that much of a fangirl, really. Gusto ko lang)
  4. Fahrenheit - For some of you, ito ung unit of temperature. For the others, it's that Taiwanese boyband. :D
  5. Firefox - Web browser ko (nauubusan na ako ng words eh)
  6. Flowers - favorite flower ko...
  7. Forget-me-not - naks naman.
  8. Fly - some people dream of flying. I don't. Naiisip ko langaw.
  9. Food - bakit nauna ko pa naisip ung fly kaysa sa food? weird din ako noh...
  10. France - it's a country. kakabasa ko lang sa blog ni Gilbert na di daw nya despise yung France pero di din nya gusto... that's all I think of when I think of France... ang sad ng life ko.
I'll tag 10 people now. Yay! Ang letter nyo A for Ateneo! (Wag kayo magalit sa kakornihan ko ha)
  1. Cheryl
  2. Candice
  3. Krizia
  4. Ely
  5. Riezeryl
  6. Dianne S.
  7. Jes
  8. Anabelle
  9. Sophia
  10. Angeli
I'll leave comments for you people na lang :D Enjoy!

to compensate for the postless 17 or 18 days (now you know why I'm gonna fail accounting)

i want a new template.

sooooo... next week, my mom will be out every morning (may classes siya. teacher siya, remember?) and if you were paying attention, wala yung maid namin. in short, nobody's going to cook.

and well. haha. if you don't know what i'm getting at, then that means i'm an idiot.

and no, my sister does not cook. nor does she wake up before lunch time.

All that Cooking Mama practice is FINALLY going to be put to use.

So, yeah. If you cook (I bet SOME of you do) will you tell me what I should cook and how to cook it? Because I'm sure my family wouldn't want to eat disgusting food, and/or have food poisoning, and/or what else would ensue from my, ahem, culinary adventures.

Moving on...

For the past two weeks during which my blog was dead, I was actually playing the DS (you would know this if you read my sister's blog) since my dad recently bought that thingy which lets you download games from the Net and play them on the DS for free.

  1. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney - A very fun game for somebody like me who has zero hand-eye coordinations skills (or whatever it is they call it) because all you do is read and poke at evidence and yell "Objection!" and wait and see if you lose, in which case you have to do everything again until you get it right. Because even in this game, I suck! XD That does not mean I did not have fun, however, because it was way cool and although the coincidences are just ridiculous, it's still cool. :D
  2. Hotel Dusk: Room 215 - Another read-and-poke game. No action whatsoever. I haven't finished this because it's pretty long. It's doesn't even feel like a game, because it's more of a mystery novel. Not exactly fun, but it's pretty interesting.
  3. Professor Layton and the Curious Village - Another mystery game but this time, it's filled with puzzles that kept me frustrated but entertained. I finished it, and I loved it, but it will be some time before I solve more puzzles. :)
  4. Animal Crossing: Wild World - If you've played/seen Animal Crossing for GameCube, this is pretty much like that one except with a few added features (more storage! ^.^) I haven't played it long enough to fully explore it but it's addictive, to say the least. And if you're bored, you can always do what I did and sort the flowers according to type and color. XD If anybody had this game, will somebody be nice enough to visit my town so I can get Nookington's? :D
That's all for now. I'd talk about dramas, but sadly, I didn't finish any dramas during my hiatus. I'm ashamed of myself.

EDIT: I'll be using this layout for now kasi nakakahilo yung dati :P

hello~

Ely online ako ngayon. :P

Our maid is out of town. Kaya walang pupunta sa bahay ko, except if you want to meet my new pet, Dust Bunny.

In case you were wondering what happened to Chestnutty, by the way, I gave it to Isen because my mom doesn't want plants in the house. I wanted to put Chestnutty out on the balcony, but oh well. It's in good hands :D

4 people answered my survey... walang hiya, may nagsabing "Hello! Study Hard! Hope you become a DL soon. :)" Yeah. I hope I do too. XD Hehe, joke lang, peace tau, whoever you are.

i shall now guess who wrote what...

"wheeeee! hi charmie." -> Si ely to! Siya lang kasi ang hyper at siya lang din (at least I think so) ang "heard about it from somebody else". Siya rin ang unang nagrespond, and cya ang unang nagleave ng message sa aking tagboard kaya i am 100% si ely yan! Hi elyyyyyy!

"magpost ka pa!!! tulog lagi blog mo! haha" -> akala ko nung una si candice to pero hindi kasi ung 4th ung kay candice. and so it's krizia! :D *i think* siya lang ung nagtatagalog hehe, so it's krizia~ and besides, cya ung 2nd na nagtag. XD

"Hello! Study Hard! Hope you become a DL soon. :)" -> I have no idea who this is. haha. actually, I have a hunch but I'm not so sure about it. Whoever you are, magparamdam ka naman! :D

"Hi! Please update more often...haha..." -> ito ata si candice. okay, now i'm not sure anymore. XD ewan ko, bahala na kayo dyan haha. oh wait i'm sure. may time pala ung survey results. :D

To the others, answer the survey! :D

Moving on...

Nag-aadvance ako ng accounting ngayon, as in naghanap ako ng sariling tutor to teach me. it's so hard! it's all fine during discussion, but when it comes to problem solving... wala. dead. mali lahat ng sagot ko sa exercises. THAT'S WHY kailangan ko nang mag-aral ngayon pa lang if I don't want to get kicked out of BMH.

Naiinggit ako sa layout ni Krizia. ang cute eh. hehehe :D magpapalit na rin ako ;) nasasawa na rin ako sa layout ko kasi nakakaduling tsaka yun din ung theme sa cellphone ko and i'm sick of it! :D

bye now! haha :D ang random ng post na to, sorry. XD

this is my 400th post yet my life still has no meaning

Thursday, April 17, 2008

heh heh heh...

(that's nervous laughter, in case you were wondering)

that's not completely true... my life DOES have meaning, and i'm very happy with everything (except for my grades. i hate my grades.)

hmm. so, since it's my 400th post, i created a survey all about my blog! this time, it has nothing to do with schoolwork (lucky little me managed to avoid summer school) (ignore my horrible grammar)

Now SHOO! Go answer!

Sunday, March 30, 2008

the power of PRAYER

Clickie!

it's funny how people think there are only two choices in everything. Who says God doesn't work through technology?

it's time for charmaine's QPI computation!

Thursday, March 27, 2008

yay! aren't you all excited to see which subjects i've been failing for the past sem? well, you don't have to wait any longer, because at long last, it's here! (yaaaaaaay!!!)

Let's start!

En12 (English) - B = 3 x 3 units = 9
Lit14 (Literature) - B+ = 3.5 x 3 units = 10.5
Fil12 (Filipino) - B = 3 x 3 units = 9
ES10 (Environmental Science) - B = 3 x 3 units = 9
ES12 (ES Lab) - A = 4 x 1 unit = 4
Ma19 (Math) - B = 3 x 6 units = 18

Total = 59.5 / 19 units = 3.13

Yes, ladies and gentlemen. This sem, my grades suck more than usual.

Funny. 3.13 also happens to be my birthday. God is telling me something here.

BUT these are NOT my final grades, I'm just predicting them.

Anyway, since it's the end of the semester, it's also time for me to comment on my teachers...

En12 - Dr. Suarez - While I didn't love my English teacher last sem, I liked her better than my current teacher. That does not mean my current teacher is bad or anything. She's a nice, smart, caring teacher. What I don't like about her is her way of giving instructions. She tends to be very "malabo" when it comes to telling us what to do, and since I have a short attention span, I almost always never understand what she wants us to do. Also, she doesn't return outlines and bibliographies that are needed to write the final paper and I hate that. But still, she's a very nice person so I give her a B. :)

Lit14 - Mr. Cayanan - He was my teacher last sem! He's the best Lit teacher ever. We all love him. He gets an A from me!

Fil12 - Dr. Respeto - He's a very nice teacher. Cares a lot for his students. He knows a lot and is very willing to share with his students. Very considerate. Not exactly A-able though, because he's a bit of a sadist when it comes to quizzes. Still, he's a great guy. He gets a B+. :D

Fil12 - Mr. Diccion - He subbed for Dr. Respeto when he got sick and was hospitalized for two weeks. He's a very fun teacher, and there's a lot to learn from him. He just scares me a little bit because he's rather outspoken... I give him a B+! :D

ES10 - Mr. Claveria - Okay... um. He knows a lot, and he teaches well, I guess. However, he can't write decently (proof is his chapter in the ES book. better than harry potter? yeah right!) and he gives evil evil exams. not a-able at all, except if you're the kind of person who enjoys memorizing the textbook. ALSO he's a dirty old man. You know what I mean. He gets a C+. That is actually an okay grade.

ES12 - Mr. Araula - He's the lab teacher. He's fine. He enjoys taking up the entire 2 hours lab time (unlike other lab teachers who take up an hour or so and gives the rest of the time off.) but that's the only thing I don't like about him. He gets a B.

Ma19 - Mr. David - No comment. I give him a C. Because he's evil.

I'm hoping none of my teachers will read this. *crosses fingers* it's not like they'll go ahead and search their surnames and come to this site, right?

Right?

Eh heh heh heh...

what is it with people and chain letters?!?

Wednesday, March 26, 2008

i don't mean chain letters in general. i mean chain letters on YM. so technically, they're chain instant messages.

seriously. why do people actually bother with them? the spam from weird unknown people selling me viagra is enough. why do some people take time to send a message that is quite obviously not true (especially those that could kill your mom or something. or those that give you a new type of ym which shows you who's invi and who's not.)?? i'd say they're doing it on purpose so that when i sign in to ym, my computer will lag and that speech bubble will come up saying "Windows Virtual Memory Too Low".

yes. that must be it.

it's a CONSPIRACY!

so is teachers giving you exams and deadlines for different subjects all on the same day. you probably think it's all a coincidence, but the truth is, every night they congregate in this top secret meeting room and plan about which student to torture. for example, here's what they could be talking about one night...

Evil Dean/President: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We will now commence this meeting to talk about our torture plans for next Monday. Would anybody like to volunteer to start?

Some Random Math Professor: (raises hand)

ED/P: Yes, Mr. X, please come up.

SRMP: Thank you. (goes up to the stage, bringing his laptop, then proceeding to project a powerpoint presentation on the huge screen behind him) Tomorrow I'm giving my Math 19 classes a long exam about double integrals. You have in front of you (presses a key on his laptop. the powerpoint presentation shows a long list of names) the list of students in my classes who will be taking the Math exam.

ED/P: If anybody recognizes one of the students as their own, please tell us.

Sounds of shuffled class records and typing fingers fill the room.

Some Random English Teacher: (raises her hand) I have Ms. Charmaine Aibes Chong in my class.

ED/P: Excellent. Will you be able to place a deadline or an exam on that date?

SRET: (frowns as she types some more into her laptop) Well, yes. I can move the deadline for the research paper to that date.

Some Random NatSci Teacher: (raises his hand)

ED/P: (to SRET) Good, Ms. Y, do that. (to SRNST) Yes?

SRNST: I also have Ms. Chong in my class, and I'll be able to assign her to report about birth control on that date.

ED/P: Good, good. Any more?

Some Random Lit Teacher: I have some bad news though, I'm giving a free cut to her class on that date because I have to watch the Oscars- AHEM! I mean, I have another engagement elsewhere.

ED/P: WHAT? That cannot be! What time is that class? I'll assign a substitute teacher at once!

SRLT: Well, it's from 2:30 - 3:30 pm...

ED/P: Are any teachers available? Never mind if you're not from the English Department, as long as you're a teacher and you're free.

Some Evil Teacher Who Thinks Torturing Students Is His Life's Purpose: (raises his hand) I can substitute him, sir.

ED/P: Good, Mr. Z, you shall substitute for Mr. W's class. In that case, let's wrap up this meeting. Ms. Charmaine Aibes Chong will be having a Math exam, an English research paper due, and a NatSci report on Monday. Perfect. Well then, teachers, we shall meet again tomorrow, please don't forget. You are now dismissed.

Meanwhile...

Charmaine Aibes Chong: (sneezes) Geez. What's the matter with me? I've been sneezing nonstop since an hour ago.

(Cellphone rings)

CAC: (picks up cellphone) What? The English research paper is due on Monday? But I have a Math exam on that day!!!

(Somebody IMs her)
