Taiwan Chapter Day 2

Saturday, May 26, 2007

DAY 2
-woke up early to get ready to go to Taipei. (we were in Tao Yuan which is somewhere north of Taipei, I think)
-B: had soy milk, 油條, and dumplings on the bus on the way. Yummy!
-arrived at Taipei zoo. had fun watching the animals... (the second zoo I've ever been to next to Avilon Zoo, which was our first year field trip, I think)
-left Taipei Zoo at about 1 pm. arrived at Unknown Street.
-Had some 炸臭豆腐 which was really good and not at all stinky.
-L: Went to a restaurant called 豆腐娘 for lunch. See, almost the entire street sold tofu... some stores sold "tikoy balls" (they aren't really called tikoy balls there, but i can't find the chinese word for it in my chinese software, so let's just leave it as that, after all they ARE called tikoy balls here), sticky rice cakes, and almond drink powder, etc etc
-went to 中正記念堂. (It was funny because my aunt kept insisting that we go, even though it was late and we were all tired, because the Taiwanese president was going to change the name of the place because he didn't like 中正 or something and it so happened that the very next day they really did change the name already... okay, it's not really funny, just... whatever. Okay, I'll stop.) The place is more of a park, but it's a historical landmark because that's where 中正's body is.
-D: had the famous Taiwanese beef noodles 牛肉麵. Actually not all beef noodles in Taiwan is good, as is every other food. It still depends on who makes it. The one we went to put Clinese medicine in the noodles. Not that it was bad or anything, just unusual.
-went back... :D

It will, most likely, be another long time before my next post... i'm sorry... :(

Taiwan Chapter Day 1

Friday, May 25, 2007

Okay. I'm sorry. I was back Tuesday night but I took until today to actually blog. I'm lazy that way.

Basically I'll just run through our itinerary. Pics will follow (when I'm less lazy to upload)

Day 1 (May 16, Wednesday)
-woke up early to eat breakfast (Actually I barely remember what I did that morning because I was too sleepy.)
-met up with my aunts and cousin and uncles and grandma and proceeded to the airport
-took the airplane. i was freaked out (despite it not really being my first time on a plane)
-B: had an inflight meal of chicken with scrambled eggs, plus fresh melon pieces (which are VERY good. i absolutely love melon. (forgive the weird un-charmaine wording. i was just on rachael ray's website. now i sound like a cooking show.) also a red ribbon ensaymada and a bread roll. and orange juice. and butter. and jam.
-got off plane and met up with my aunt and uncle who live in taiwan and went to our hotel (our hotel was a dingy place with dirty and old looking wallpaper and carpet. it looked clean, but you never really know. the bed was hard, too. it's not downright terrible, really. at least the bathroom's clean.)
-went to my aunt's place. (it's like this. my mom's older sister (the eldest) lives in taiwan, and his husband is also taiwanese, so basically we went to taiwan to visit her.) met her mother-in-law. she was a nice lady.
-proceeded to go to this mall called "Idee" (English name. I forgot the chinese name) which had this restaurant on its 8th or 9th or something-th floor. their malls are outrageously high! unlike ours which goes as far as about 6th or 7th, theirs go all the way up to 11 and 12.
-L: had a buffet lunch (but it was about 2 pm so it was called "afternoon tea" though we ate too much for it to actually be "tea") it was a good lunch. parang naghotel na rin kami, though it cost only about NT$300+ (that's Taiwan Dollars. NT$1= Php1.50, so it's about Php500) di ba? half the price lang, more selections, and mas masarap din. :D
-went to Holiday KTV. yes, nagkaraoke kami. yes, kumanta ako. yes, Fahrenheit and Hana Kimi songs. pathetic fangirl me. (my mother's family is really music-oriented. all my mom's siblings can sing and even her cousins and aunts and uncles, etc etc. they can even play chinese instruments. too bad i didnt inherit their genes. :P) the fee was per head, i think, but it's inclusive of buffet snack na, so it's really worth the money.
-D: the buffet snack. tutal busog na kami sa lunch. nabusog pa kami lalo.
-went home (or rather, to our "hotel")

(To be continued... dahil tinatamad na ako and also, nakaka-antok. hopefully di ko pa makalimutan by the time i finish this "taiwan trip" chapter of my blog.)

Going, going, gone.

I lied. I said in my last post that it would be my last post before going to Taiwan, but well, here I am again!

So anyway, bye guys! I'll be back before you know it... :D

Saturday, May 12, 2007

i'll be in taiwan from may 16-22. my first time abroad ever! haha... can't wait.

anyway, just a quick update on what i've been up to for the past few days.

  1. watching various dvds, such as "My Girl" (which I just finished today. The ending was nuts...), "Sassy Girl Choon-Hyang", etc. etc.
  2. reading Hana Yori Dango manga (which I have already mentioned quite a few times)
  3. doing chores, like cooking, cleaning, etc. (take note, I do not always do this. it's only because our maid isn't around.)
i don't think i'll post again till may 22, but then again, you never know... tag, please!

watched this on tv... hoped to share it with fellow fahrenheit fans (though i doubt any of them read this blog. hm, oh well.)

changes

Sunday, May 6, 2007

hm. well. nainggit ako kay krizia... (haha. thou shalt not covet, charmaine)

changed layout, changed emoticons in my tagboard. basically imitated krizia.

don't worry, imitation is the best form of flattery, right?

Peace, Ely.

Saturday, May 5, 2007

in case you haven't noticed i have added a few new links to other blogs, so if you're sick of my blog just check those out...

i just read from krizia's blog that the solution to writer's block is nonstop writing. well, if that's the case, i'm off to go write something! :D

(not here, because who knows what kind of garbage i'll come up with??)

This is my 200th post... yet my life is still boring.

Thursday, May 3, 2007

My inbox... has 257 new messages... and counting.

That cursed Orsem Yahoo! Group!!!

I was tempted to delete all but i didn't. but sooner or later, or rather, now, I'm going to go to the Y! Group and cancel all emails.

:'(

I even see people I know, like DA and Marienelle posting messages... haha... i want to post a message too, but you know, it's really too much. Chances are nobody would notice mine.

There's even this message which has this subject "when will we get to strut our stuff against lasallians--taft?"

You see? I think ateneans are weirdos... haha... me included of course!

Anyway, I just read Krizia's and Ely's tag things... you should too. I learned a lot... especially the fact that hindi naliligo si Krizia... ahem.

BTW IMPORTANT NOTICE! It's Danette's birthday on Saturday, May 5. Don't forget to greet her!

Um... yeah I know, random things. I'm going to edit that tag thing now, so just check that post in the meantime.

(This is by the way, the most anticlimactic 200th post ever)

Eto pala, joke ng mga atenista... taken from ateneo batch 2011 multiply site (although the batch technically does not exist yet)

"kapag naging bakla si Neo sa The Matrix, ano na tawag nila Morpheus sa kanya?

Edi, AteNeo!!"

am I stupid or what?

Wednesday, May 2, 2007

someone called me this morning. as in, tulog pa ako tumawag na. magym daw ako "maya-maya".

that was about half an hour ago.

problem is, i don't know who called! :(

now I'm online in ym and nobody's talking to me so what gives??

hay buhay. oh well. i'll just sit here till 11 and see if anyone cares. *ahem*

I was tagged by Toni.

Tuesday, May 1, 2007

RULES: Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things/little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. No tag backs.

(Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Well, at least I now have something to blog about and poor Krizia will not feel like she's all alone in this blogging business. Ahem. So, let's start! (Though my mind is honestly completely blank right now.))

  1. I used to be allergic to chicken when I was a kid (though I guess I still am a kid now, but you get my point). Thank goodness I'm not anymore!
  2. I can't wear fake earrings. My ears would itch. They're sensitive. So, you know, I can't wear those cute fancy earrings. Sniff.
  3. I have a childhood nickname too! It's "Amen". I know, like, praying or something. Rachelle calls me that. Haha. It's kind of because I used to say "Charmaine" as "Amen" when I was a baby. So, there you go.
  4. I'm a frustrated writer. Immense writer's block which won't go away at all! I've been that way for a long long long time and I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE. I even have READER'S BLOCK. GAHH...!!!
  5. I have a favorite blanket! It's big and comfy, orange and red! Wheeheehee...
  6. I once crashed my dad's car into a wall (wrong sentence formation ata). Kasi, ganyan yan. I wanted to turn on the aircon, so I had to start the car. But the stick (dont know what it's called) was um, forward (OKAY not making any sense) basta!
So once I started the car BLAM! There you go. I didn't die, thank goodness. :p Nothing happened, just bumped my head and got scolded.
  7. For the past few days, I have been indulging on Hana Yori Dango manga and Danny Phantom cartoons.
  8. I tend to fill up my computer's memory downloading those 60 minute trials. I currently have about 8 in my laptop. (You might have witnessed this during LotM)
  9. I watched Spider-man 3 last night (May 2)... and I enjoyed it! So well, people reading this, go watch it! :D
  10. I used to have something up on my Geocities site... it was weird and had this commentary type of thing written by me under the pen name "Lucille Drake". I don't know where I come up with this stuff honestly.

I tag: Krizia, Cheryl, Elysia, and um... (wla nang maisip. ok, just pick anyone n lng) Bernadee, Terence and Abigail Go (because I know she has a blog though I do not read it much. Bad me! I'll now add her to my links list :D)
