what is it with people and chain letters?!?

i don't mean chain letters in general. i mean chain letters on YM. so technically, they're chain instant messages.

seriously. why do people actually bother with them? the spam from weird unknown people selling me viagra is enough. why do some people take time to send a message that is quite obviously not true (especially those that could kill your mom or something. or those that give you a new type of ym which shows you who's invi and who's not.)?? i'd say they're doing it on purpose so that when i sign in to ym, my computer will lag and that speech bubble will come up saying "Windows Virtual Memory Too Low".

it's a CONSPIRACY!

so is teachers giving you exams and deadlines for different subjects all on the same day. you probably think it's all a coincidence, but the truth is, every night they congregate in this top secret meeting room and plan about which student to torture. for example, here's what they could be talking about one night...

Evil Dean/President: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We will now commence this meeting to talk about our torture plans for next Monday. Would anybody like to volunteer to start?

Some Random Math Professor: (raises hand)

ED/P: Yes, Mr. X, please come up.

SRMP: Thank you. (goes up to the stage, bringing his laptop, then proceeding to project a powerpoint presentation on the huge screen behind him) Tomorrow I'm giving my Math 19 classes a long exam about double integrals. You have in front of you (presses a key on his laptop. the powerpoint presentation shows a long list of names) the list of students in my classes who will be taking the Math exam.

ED/P: If anybody recognizes one of the students as their own, please tell us.

Sounds of shuffled class records and typing fingers fill the room.

Some Random English Teacher: (raises her hand) I have Ms. Charmaine Aibes Chong in my class.

ED/P: Excellent. Will you be able to place a deadline or an exam on that date?

SRET: (frowns as she types some more into her laptop) Well, yes. I can move the deadline for the research paper to that date.

Some Random NatSci Teacher: (raises his hand)

ED/P: (to SRET) Good, Ms. Y, do that. (to SRNST) Yes?

SRNST: I also have Ms. Chong in my class, and I'll be able to assign her to report about birth control on that date.

ED/P: Good, good. Any more?

Some Random Lit Teacher: I have some bad news though, I'm giving a free cut to her class on that date because I have to watch the Oscars- AHEM! I mean, I have another engagement elsewhere.

ED/P: WHAT? That cannot be! What time is that class? I'll assign a substitute teacher at once!

SRLT: Well, it's from 2:30 - 3:30 pm...

ED/P: Are any teachers available? Never mind if you're not from the English Department, as long as you're a teacher and you're free.

Some Evil Teacher Who Thinks Torturing Students Is His Life's Purpose: (raises his hand) I can substitute him, sir.

ED/P: Good, Mr. Z, you shall substitute for Mr. W's class. In that case, let's wrap up this meeting. Ms. Charmaine Aibes Chong will be having a Math exam, an English research paper due, and a NatSci report on Monday. Perfect. Well then, teachers, we shall meet again tomorrow, please don't forget. You are now dismissed.

Meanwhile...

Charmaine Aibes Chong: (sneezes) Geez. What's the matter with me? I've been sneezing nonstop since an hour ago.

(Cellphone rings)

CAC: (picks up cellphone) What? The English research paper is due on Monday? But I have a Math exam on that day!!!

(Somebody IMs her)

CAC: (reads message) What? My NatSci report has been moved to Monday too? At least I have a free cut for--

(E-mail from someone)

CAC: (opens inbox and reads mail) WHAT? The free cut has been cancelled? We'll have a sub??? WHY? Why is this happening to MEEEEEE???????

i recently finished a Japanese drama called "One Pound Gospel"

it's a really sweet, sentimental love story.

it's probably the cleanest romance drama I have ever seen in my entire love.

i swear. di man lang sila nag TOUCH.

well, expected.

the main characters, after all, are a nun and a boxer.

and when i say boxer i mean a VERY innocent, naive, dense boxer.

that's why it's cute, i guess.

the nun is played by Kuroki Meisa, a girl who's too pretty to be a nun.

the boxer is played by Kamenashi Kazuya (remember him? the guy who looks like a girl. but he doesn't look like a girl here. he's an awesome actor.)

i watched it on mysoju.com. it's also on youtube.

but i'm dloading it from d-addicts so i can burn myself a copy and also share it with others.

now i'm watching another drama called "LIAR GAME"

it's a psychological thriller, much like "Death Note" but less violent

kasi sa LIAR GAME wlang namamatay

pero maraming nagsisinungaling

no duh

but it's pretty cool.

it's a brainy drama.

minsan lang nakakainis ung lead character na girl

kasi she's this super honest, super innocent girl.

palaging naloloko.

nakakapikon.

but she smartens up naman.

she's played by Erika Toda who also plays Misa in the Death Note live action movie.

her friend, a swindler, is played by Matsuda Shota, who plays Nishikado Sojiro or Xi Men in Hana Yori Dango.

he's ugly (well not really. but he's not exactly that good looking)

but it doesn't matter because he plays a swindler who just got out of jail.

and you know, jailbirds don't exactly have to be good looking.

but swindlers do, i guess.

still, that's not the point.

LIAR GAME is a cool drama, and i recommend it to those who are sick of shallow romance dramas (not me)

Disney's gonna make a movie out of the Shopaholic series, starring Isla Fisher as Becky and Hugh Dancy as Luke. I don't know them either, but Hugh Dancy's the guy who played Prince Char in Ella Enchanted (remember him?)

i'm not exactly jumping-out-of-my-boots excited, but i'm eager to see what the movie will be like. :)

danica went to banapple and i went with her. i bought three slices of banoffee pie which is now still sitting untouched in the fridge. total self discipline right there!

and um. hmm. nothing happens to me, really. my life is more boring than watching clouds pass by... (well actually medyo fun nga manood ng clouds eh.) but i'm not complaining. i'd rather have a boring, nothing-to-blog-about life than a life full of problems

oh yeah! the fun thing i'm actually doing is that i'm downloading PVs (promotional videos, i.e. music videos) of Johnny's bishounen... and well. you guys don't want to hear about that...

while writing a long paper on flowers and their symbolism in poetry is fun and all, it just makes me want to hit myself on the head and/or go to a flower garden and ditch the paper.

i wonder if putting pictures in my paper will earn me a low grade. or maybe my teacher (who is a guy but not quite) will like pictures of flowers. i mean, I like pictures of flowers. why won't he? maybe he'll want to go to a flower garden and give me an A. ;)

i just need a break. back to the papeeeeeeeer.........

my lit teacher was going to give a free cut yesterday to watch the oscars. pero, nagkaholiday rin, so no free cut. :(


so anyway, feel ko ulit mag share, so here's my Lit short paper that i'm supposed to submit tomorrow. my mind wasn't working right when i wrote this so it might not make sense (MIGHT) but anyway, feel ko lang nakakatuwa siya so there you go. :D

I was in third grade when my mother enrolled me in a summer piano class. As a child, of course, I didn’t relish the idea of going to school every day when it was my chance to sleep until noon and watch TV for the rest of the day. Yet I was eager to try playing the piano. It was something a lot more different than what I was always doing at school. It was the chance for me to become like my Sunday school teacher, a pretty young lady who could play the piano and sing at the same time. It was, for me, the ultimate goal to achieve, although my seven-year-old mind did not think of it as a “goal”.

I had a wonderful time. I loved how my fingers would press down on the keys and there would be that soft lingering tone from the wooden contraption. I learned how to identify the different time signatures, how to find the middle C, how to tell a quarter note from a whole note.

At the end of the class, there was to be a recital for all the piano students. I was eager to show off my skills, and I was assigned to play “Mary Had a Little Lamb”. It was a very easy piece and I was confident. During the recital, I went up the stage as I was told to do, sat down on the bench, and played. It lasted for 10 seconds.

When I was done, I curtsied to the applause of the audience and went to sit beside my mother. “Why did you hit a wrong note?” she asked. Wrong note? What wrong note? I followed the score on the book! Turns out that the book, which was designed for beginners, only uses three notes for the piece, when the actual song has five notes. Thus, on my first recital performance ever, I made a mistake. And it wasn’t even my fault.

After that, I continued my piano lessons. Although I have stopped since entering college due to the busy schedule, I never forgot that first piano performance. That book could still be in print until today, I can’t be too sure, but there had to be other people who had the same experience because of it.

I don’t know if that day had any lasting psychological effects on me, but at least now I know that books aren’t always right.

i'll give a prize to whoever knows the title of that piano book :D
