The Birth of the Strikethrough (at least, here in my blog)

I recently read a blog by this 3rd year girl and I was like. Wow.

Not just wow, but WOW.

To make the long story short, it makes MY blog puny in comparison.

My blog is just all drabbles and useless stuff, and when I say useless stuff, I mean stuff that nobody cares about anyway but they still read about because they have nothing better to do.

It's so sad.

Not that I'm going to change my blog or anything. I like it the way it is.

But, you know, there are some things I long for that I'll never get unless I work harder.

Um. And we're talking about Charmaine here. Working hard is most likely not in her vocabulary.

SO anyway, wla lang, little rant.

The day I've been waiting for for my entire high school life has come at last. The day the 4th year peeps get free reign. YES!!!! Mwahahahaha!!! (That's an evil laugh, in case you didn't notice)

You know what I'm good at? Grammar. As in the most boring subject verb agreement part. The rest? Down the drain.

Once upon a time, there was a Chinese person selling peanuts. Then a Filipino passed by wanting to know where he was, so he gestured by pointing his hand downwards (as in, like, pointing to the ground) but the Chinese guy thought he was asking about the peanuts so he said... "Mani lah!" and thus the Filipino thought the town was called "Manila" and the name stuck. haha.

There's another version pala, the Chinese guy was selling stoves. He told the Filipino, "Kalan ba?" and the town was called Calamba! Yay!!!

Once upon a time, back in Ancient Rome, women were very small, while men were VERY TALL. So wives were problematic and worried about how there were going to clean the ceilings of their houses, which were just high enough to accomodate their husbands' height. So, one woman (being very smart) thought of a brilliant plan! She attached a brush to her husband's helmet so that whenever the husband walked around, he would be cleaning the ceiling at the same time. However, she didnt think of the problems that would arise (and nor did the person... er, ghost writing this) for example, the dust that came from the ceiling would fall on the husband's face... haha, but who cares. this is just fiction, people!

And there you go. That's all the corniness for today. No quote from a YM stat message today! sorry... nobody has any good sarcastic ones. :D

Hello, Friday!

No classes today. Should I be happy? I don't know...

BUT the point is, yesterday was the inauguration where the Stephenian Chorale performed. It was all pretty cool and everything except for the fact that all we did was sit around in the AVR drinking salabat (ginger tea, it was good!) and chatting and doing whatever. And oh yeah, eating ChickenJoy and mashed potatoes. No, I am NOT kidding.

And you know, we also had to get our make up done and I, in all honesty, looked like a clown!!! (I was going to say freak, but then again, I don't know what a freak looks like.) But I guess, my make up wasn't the worst, so to speak. There were others who suffered along with me.

Backtrack please....

Yesterday I had lunch with Ana at Wai Ying and it was totally fun and everything! Then we went to Book one to shop for a gift for Mimi who will be having a Disney Princess party (Mimi is 16.) at Mcdo tomorrow but since I'm not going, then I'll just get her something! So, we went and bought this super cute ***** *****. (I'm sorry, but I'm not spoiling the surprise in case Mimi reads my blog. *winks*) (To be honest, I can't wink if my life depended on it, so virtual winks are all that I can do. Sigh.)

Then afterwards we went to school and went to Agape to play Bibleopoly. Except that neither one of us (me or Ana) knew how to play, so well then, forget it, let's play Monopoly. It was super boring... thankfully, Pastor Ed saved us and arrived and invited us to play a game of Scrabble! So we played Scrabble... and I totally sucked. I mean, i think somebody hates me. For one round I got the following letters: AAAEOOU (or something like that) then I used up U and E (for dUE) then for the next round I got AAAIOOO. I mean, hello???? What are the chances?!?!?

So well. That was my day. I mean, that was my yesterday, I guess. That's all. Cheers!

my longest post ever?

So. Today was the "Mathirang Mathibay". *coughcornytitlecough*

Anyhow, the contest started off... okay forget it, i'm switching to kwento mode.

So ganyan. Pumunta ako ng school ng *medyo* maaga, kc kylngn ko pa kunin kay mrs mets yung invitation. But first, I talked to Kathy, Ja and Ana. (kathy was sick...:( ) Then, kinuha ko yung invitation, i went to central office to paxerox and also ask for envelopes (ksama si danette) and then wala lang, un na. we went dun sa may guard to wait for the others. turns out sama pala si justin may contest sa amoranto sports complex. anyway, contestants are: Dream Team! Danette Kevin Willard and alternate Al. Nightmare Team! Charmaine Candice Krizia and alternate Aldrich. Pansin ko lang noh, ung mga ALternate na sina AL at ALdrich parang recurring syllables. But!!! back to the topic.

so we went to up diliman and it was so noisy in the car as always kasi ang gulo gulo ni aldrich but anyway the point is we got there eventually (duh) and then pag baba namin we had to go register and everything, kailangan pang mag pa picture for some strange reason (which i do not know, apparently) so anyway ayun nag picture picture. may booth thingy pa nga ung msa dun and then it was kind of freakish kc the person there was constantly talking to me, parang sales talk, although it was not effective kasi ang mahal mahal ng mga stuff nila!!! i mean imagine, ung set of like i dont know, 100? 200? cards (number 18 card game) is about 168 pesos... hello? they're just pieces of paper!!!! with stuff printed on them, yeah but they're still paper!!!

Also, kailangan naming mamigay ng invite para sa lotm since mga 23 teams pa lang sumali kasi mahirap daw ung contest, walang chance manalo, etc etc. we even tried convincing sir tom to talk to the teacher na taga jubilee pero di ko alam kung tinuloy nya. i gave invites to rizal hs, and a few other schools i dont know. kinausap din ako ng isang taga ateneo, pwede ba daw ilipat sa dec 9, but then i told him, di ako ang nag dedecide, so sorry n lng. kung pwde lang next year ko na gagawin noh. mga i dont know, january?? but then, gusto ni sir, ok lang daw kung maraming conflict. have i mentioned kung gano ka raming conflict on that day????? 1. cmli contest, 2. eco contest, 3. poster making contest, 4. ust hs math camp, 5. india contest. i mean, parang sinadyang sinama lahat... hayyyy.

So yun, elimination round na. Pumila kami sa labas as in under the scorching sun... we were almost literally melting. Buti na lang medyo mabilis lang kmi sa labas kaya, cge ,fine, pila kami. Pag pasok, mga 6 teams lng nasa class room, kc have i mentioned that yung elimination round is GROUP? as in sabay sabay kaming sumasagot. i guess medyo di lang kmi sanay sa bagong system, maayos naman , so anyway, yun. we went on solving. we got like about 10 to 15 answers out of 25 and most of them were wrong anyway. wala kaming nakuha sa diff kahit isa!!! and i was so close!!! wahh...

oo nga pala, bunch of ajss people there. davin, jo, da, jonathan, (and also annabellee... iseeeeen! hehehe. and kyle pala! best friend ni isen yun.) elaine, joson, edmund, and surprise surprise thompson na taga xavier na di ko ineexpect na nandun. di nmn kmi close. di nga kami nag uusap, it's just unusual. di ko alam na magaling pala sya sa math.... nandun din pala si carlo of ateneo math camp na taga grace and we talked a bit but medyo di ko sya pinansin kc distracted ako sa pagdidistribute ng invitation... sorry carlo!!!! but ANYWAY.

we went to lunch in nismed, also where the auditorium where the final round would take place was. We had a little less than two hours to spare. nismed was kind of far from the math dept (even when mr tom chu said it was "malapit". it was kind of "far" for us kasi cyempre it was noon and blazing hot) but still the time was whiled away talking and chatting and all of that stuff.

We came to "Kenneth's Kitchen" something something (forgot the complete name) and i ordered fried chicken since everyone seemed to have ordered that (except for kevin and al who both ordered lasagna and sir tom who ordered embutido. like two pieces lang nga eh, bue kia dit talaga! but then, i guess, what do you expect for 50 pesos. and might i mention that al tried to charm the waitress person but well it didnt work. parehas lang silang dalawang magkapatid. nyahaha!) and also i ordered a strawberry milkshake which for some reason wasnt categorized as a fruit shake unlike candice's and al's bnana shake. nasabihan tuloy si candice na chonggo. which is, you know, actually, what others call ME but hey, you don't hear me complainin' that inaagaw ni candice name ko!

then anyway, i learned a bunch of gossip about kevin making krizia cry because napikon si krizia kay kevin kasi ayaw ni kevin kumanta sa music. bakit ba? ganyan ba kasama boses mo ,kevin? joke!!! anyway, i also learned that mr tan kicked the table which in turn hit or "kicked" however you put it, sharette of 4-V and so by the law of transitivity, mr tan "kicked" sharette. i mean, what??? really???? and he also once grabbed this second year boy named "kevin" also (kevin gaw daw?) by the collar and like, lifted him up and when i found out i was like what!!! grabe naman!!! but anyway the thing is, all this proves is that math nerds know how to gossip too!!! :p

so also during lunch they were solving math... i mean yeah math nerds, you know how we are, then i chanced upon aldrich's theme paper (scratch lang) in english and read it, and i was actually surprised, because, despite some grammatical errors, it was pretty good! and now i dont have to categorize "why aldrich is in the SV" in the list of the world's biggest mysteries (joke lang po. no offense. but honestly nag filipino section sya pero magaling nmn cya english. why dont he just tell his editor na marunong lang cya sa literary filipino. i mean, hey, i dont deny that i dont know how to write news!)

after lunch we headed to the main lobby of nismed where there was a display of some physics stuff which were pretty cool except that they were there since last year when we went to nismed, up diliman for pisikaalaman. so they were nothing new but then again, all ideas for physics projects are welcome!!! then we went around looking at them (si ervin dy sineryoso tlga ung isa dun, ung parang release the chain tangled around the pipe things on the ground) then there was this real cool one na mag bike ka then then a light bulb will light then, a mini fan, then a tv! i mean, it was way neat!

so we went upstairs waited for like 1 minute and then we were in the auditorium! it WAS where the pisikaalaman was held! so we went to the balcony, grabbed seats and bored ourselves to death. no, actually, inannounce kung cno pumasok sa quarter finals. pasok sila danette. but they were like the 3rd batch pa so we had to wait for the first two batches to finish. buti n lng we didnt stay till like, 7 pm, which we might have stayed until, if danette's group had gotten in the finals.

so, for the rest of the contest, i read the alchemist and finished it even, read archie which danette brought, and ate the sandwich i brought, and also fell asleep. (pinicturan pa ako ni krizia... ack!) then tapos na, i didnt even know what happened during the contest, just did nothing, it was wayyyyyyy boring (no offense) then the 3rd batch was done and we were leaving because di pasok sila danette sa next round.

then we went home! on the way it was super super magulo pero masaya din i guess kasi si al was like acting all homo like which was disturbing, and he was falling all over aldrich (who might i mention wala nang boses since this morning... i mean, pano cya mag eemcee!!! oh right. i havent mentioned that he's the replacement emcee for aaron because of aaron joining cmli... gusto nmn ni aldrich eh.) and then aldrich moved beside me then it was rather crowded on our side then haynako basta! ang init pa naman nun! nahilo tuloy si candice.

si al at kevin bumaba na sa bahay nila, then i went to school pa for some reason ( dapat mag chochorale kaso lang tapos na pala, kinuha ko n lng el fili ko from the locker.) then went right home and enjoyed my day.

BUT di pa tapos ang kwento!!! after dinner at home, there's banana for dessert, then what do i do, i put them in a blender and whoooosh, banana shake! :D see? marunong din ako gumawa noh! ako lang nagenjoy kasi ayaw nila mama and papa and everyone else. fine, ang sarap sarap nga eh!

and here ends charmaine's day. my eyes look like this na @.@ and i have been sleeping at midnight for the past few days, no wonder i look like @.@. so, goodnight, God bless! it's 11:38 pm, and time for me to sleep! thanks!

On a more "serious" note

23 teams na ang LotM, which isn't quite so bad. I mean, db parang makakacontest naman tau with 23 teams. BUT of course we should not be satisfied with "just enough". In order to succeed... we must force Kevin DY to call each and every school and use his *ahem* manly charms (ayon kay Candice) to convince the schools to join since Charmaine's non-existent charms (despite being named CHARMaine) have no use whatsoever.

Anyway, the other day (Sunday) we joined Lakad Masa which was a walk from Quirino Grandstand to the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. We being Ana, Riezeryl, Danette, Ivane, and a bunch of other people. It was a long walk (but not as long as the Rotary Alay Lakad) and it was awfully hot and since Riezeryl for some reason wanted to walk up front, Sir Raps made us carry the banner!! And we couldn't hide behind the tarpaulin anymore! Sniff.

I want to say more but I'm sleepy. And I have a contest called Mathirang Matibay tomorrow at UP Diliman. Remember what I said about corny titles?

Speaking of which, congrats to Danette, Russell and Mark for winning first in the Chemaphy 2006. Chemistry. Math. Physics. Forget what I said before. This is the corniest title EVER.

After a very very VERY long time, I am finally back to CoP, that is, Cardinality of Pandalettes. And I have soooooooooooooooo much to tell!!!! So, I'm switching to kwento mode :D

1. Filipino LT. This one's for you Danica. I mean, it was super super unfair! Remember the FEU Nicanor Reyes thing? Well, it was on the day of the Fil long test, and when we took the make up test, it was VERY DIFFICULT, and completely different from what we prepared for. I mean, is that fair? We were out not because of personal reasons but because of the school's glory and yada yada. Mrs. Albano actually wanted us to go, and now we get this? I know we didnt win and all that, but HELLO? unfair with a capital U
2. Okay, next thing, the auditorium. I mean, I went in before, when it was still under construction, but now that everything is perfect and totally cool, we were all like WOW!!!Yes, all caps. with a few !!!s for effect. :D And the other day the principal took us in like guinea pigs testing the air conditioning, rating 5 for coldest and 1 for hot, and when some people (i think trying to make a joke out of it, although it was quite obvious that it was not a joking matter) raised their hands at 1, the faces of the engineering people literally FELL. Well, okay not literally. I mean, that would be totally freaky. But anyway during the thingy in the audi, (as in auditorium, not the car, if you know what i mean) there was this powerpoint presentation which was more of a "The principal is GREAT" thing rather than an actual presentation of how the auditorium was completed. BUT anyhoo, we're all used to that.
3. The MATH CLUB, my flesh and blood, my life and soul. The great SMS. well, duh it's great because i'm president. JOKE LANG PO! No violent reactions please. So, thing is this monday is the math challenge and these few days have given me more eyebags than you can imagine (thankfully, they're only metaphorical eyebags and not real ones so i dont look like a panda yet (hardihar janine)) BUT everything has gone on smoothly, and I have to thank GOD of course, I've been praying for this thing since day 1. I just pray to God that He will continue to support us till the contest day itself. Oh, and the LotM will be held in the auditorium! how cool is that! However, only the opening will be held there. The contest proper will be back in the stephenian hall. Well, um, okay then. A bit more sipsip power :p jke lang ulit. I dont go for sipsip, okay?

charmaineyv: and then, since Charmaine was already covered in muck, she decided to scare Danica, pretending to be a great big swamp monster
chipmunkrfuzzy: of course that would be a pretty crazy move because Danica is mentally unstable so she blasted at Charmaine...but her plasma blaster melted the muck instead so now it clung top Charmaine's skin and she became the Slob Monster! haha

charmaineyv: but with the help of the ghost of the golden giraffe who wanted to eat the apple, Danica successfully blasted Charmaine to never land, since, if you remember, the giraffe was killed by charmaine's cholesterol

The Sipnayan.

Well. Thanks for the attention. That, and the flooding of my tagboard. But still! Life's pretty much ok now. Good? Um, not quite. 50-50.

The thing is, this is supposed to be my Sipnayan post. The pictures though, are in my previous post. But that won't stop me from typing out my experiences in sweet old Ateneo. (Uhh...)

Early in the morning, when I arrived at St. Step Hen, it was like such a huge shock because there were only, like, 2 people there. Candice and Krizia. (Oh. And Mr. Ong.) I was early!!! I was all, am I dreaming? But I wasn't! Wow! Amazing! I was even earlier than Kevin!!!

So um yeah. Everyone came eventually, even Aldrich who was Mr. Late (next only to Calvin). And so we left!

In the car, it was the usual crazy thing. Danette was sorely missed however, due to her YES! quiz in UST. Anyway, the groupings are: THE DREAM TEAM, consisting of Willard, Kevin, and Candice (Kevin and Candice!); and, THE NIGHTMARE TEAM, consisting of Krizia, Aldrich, and me! Well. Um, pagdating sa Ateneo, hintay hintay kami... then!!! PROBLEM: Kailangan naming mamigay ng letters para sa LoTM!!

(Me being the big clucking chicken, was scared, I was too "shy". I'm ashamed of myself.)

Buti na lang nandyan si Krizia. She gave quite a lot of letters, pero in the end, mga 20 something lang ata nabigyan namin kasi, yung iba umuwi na ng maaga.

So anyway, rewind... nung nagstart na ung elimination, nandun kami sa escaler hall, our team. then naghanap ng seats. test test test... DI AKO MARUNONG!!!! I was like staring at the paper the whole time. (exag(gerate). cyempre nag answer naman ako, kahit konti.) when the test was done I was like, man! I'm sorry I failed you guys. (aldrich and krizia) but oh well. LUNCH TIME!

Lunch was at KFC. We ate! We took pictures! (One picture which is me and aldrich. the totem pole whatever thing which was kind of a parody of the stephenian gazette of their batch. tingnan nyo na lang mukha ni aldrich dun.... heheheh)

after lunch, balik na kami, announce finalists.... st stephen's team 1!!!! whoooooo!!! sila willard, kevin, and candice!!! yeah!

so contest contest...

they ended up as 6th place overall..

Dear Stupid Diary

My stupid stupid web browser shut down on me!!!! I have to type everything again!!! Augh!!!
But still, because I do care about you, my beloved readers, I have to write. So, here goes.
This morning, I woke up for the GMATIC which was in Grace Christian HS. GMATIC stands for Grace Mathineers Interschool Competition. Which is not as corny as Lord of the Math which is the corniest in the history of corny titles, followed by MATHirang MATHibay, AGHAMon, PISIKAalaman, and so on and so forth. But anyway, so I went to school where I got into the car that took us to Grace.
In the car we (namely, me, Danette, Candice, Kevin, Aldrich, Willard, and Sir Tom) discussed about a whole list of stuff including of course the best topic in the history of good topics--Chinese Teachers. (Cyempre si Sir di nakipagkwentuhan sa amin tungkol sa chinese teacher)
Once we got to Grace, we were just being crazy, talking with Clarisse (who I just met today) and playing the write-letter-form-word game and laughing our heads off, which was fun, of course. And sayang tlga kc wla yung guy na hinahanap ko... :( Although, nakita ko si Carlo. Tska sila davin and the other mtg people.
BUT ANYWAY, yun, nag elimination, nagtest kmi ng written tapos feel ko parang, hello? may pag asa pa ba ako, tapos i was feeling bad kc kawawa naman mga teammates ko na sila Candice at Aldrich who did their best but THEN dahil sa akin mapupull down scores nila.
After ng test, nag usap kmi then tanong tanong kmi sagot then we had lunch, which was okay. Most of us ordered chicken teriyaki (ahem, terriyake pala) kasi daw mas "safe".
After lunch, we were waiting for the results of the elimination exam kung pasok ba kami sa semi finals, although medyo di na ako nag aasa pa na makakapasok kami although ang dream team na sila Danette, Willard, at Kevin, ineexpect namin na pumasok. And pumasok naman sila, then super gulat namin nang tinawag din kmi kc super di namin ineexpect. So akyat kami, tawa ako ng tawa na parang baliw. Then nung nasa easy round na, 4 points lang kmi kaya medyo depressed kami, pero chinicheeran namin sila danette kc nga sila yung ineexpect tlga manalo. but then pag dating ng average round wla kaming nakuha! But then dahil masayahin kami tawa pa rin kmi ng tawa. SA difficult, at last, may nasagutan kami, TATLO! Yeah! FAvorite ko yung isang problem na sinX*cosX = 60/169. find sinX + cosX. iniisip ko naman, ano pwde panghula... 13? kc no idea tlga kami. then naisip ko, di ba may right triangle na 5, 12, 13?? so yun na nilagay namin, 17/13. and YES tama!!! Whooooooooooo! TAWA NG MALAKAS!
so yun. well, 19 pts. ok na un. pang 8 kami out of 24 teams. sila danette 7th. Buti pa si sir tom... kaysa kay ****... haha.. ahem.
Then we went back to school, sa ATC lang kmi exempted naman kami. Naglaro lang kmi ni aldrich at kevin at danette at candice ng PANTS (Place, Animal, Name, Thing, Score). Ang daya daya ni aldrich kasi sa name, naglalagay sya ng mga kung ano ano tulad ng Bince at Yeye. as if may name na ganun, pero kinonsider naman kc nga names. but anyway, later on pinalitan namin para maging People, Adjective, Nature, Food, Score (PANFS) and so naglaro kmi tatlo ni kevin at aldrich. tapos nagkatuwaan kami tawa ako ng tawa pa rin kc may sinulat si kevin FAIR'S SOUP kung ano man yun. hahahah....
then nung uwian, nakakainis ung mga taong un iniwan ako!!!!! just left me there erasing the board... but anyway paglabas ko nakita ko sila anabelle at janine at pumunta kami canteen bili ako shake, bili janine patty, then punta kami RBX, meet Dianne S. and Mimi, then go RBX then kain sila ako hindi then un na......................................

Busy as a Bee

Lots of things happened these past few days (or rather, weeks). Here are some of them:

1. Today it rained. Actually it was a full-fledged storm complete with sock-wettening floods and gushes of wind and water. Kanina pa nung pauwi kami. Ngaun, kahit isang katiting ng tubig, WALA! ARGH!!!
2. Two weeks ago ata, or three, nag elevator ako papuntang Australasian Science Competition sa St. Step Hen. Tapos biglang nawalan ng kuryente! Nakakagulat, biglang nahulog ung elevator. Buti ako, calm, pinindot ko yung yellow button na may drawing ng bell. Parang walang nangyari. Tapos gumalaw ulit yung elevator. Yehey! I'm saved. Tumigil sa 7th flr at tuluyan na akong pumunta sa St. Step Hen. :D
3. Alay Lakad nung Sunday. Masaya naman. Wla lang. Hehehe. Halos kasing saya ng last year kc kasama ko si Chabi. Hehehe...
4. Pasok na ako sa Training Team! Yehey! Added bonus, instant membership sa Computer Club! Yay!
5. Filipino Contest pala, medyo matagal na un. Masaya pero talo kami. Awww....
6. Start na pala MTG nung Sunday. Kaso lang wala ako kasi nag Ateneo Camp Math ako. Last day na nun eh. Miss ko na nga... Nanalo pa nga kami ng kisses pero ung kisses ko napisa sa bag. WAHHH!!!
7. Absent si Sir Tom for about a week... kaya binigyan namin cya ng fruits! Hehe... sana di na cya magkasakit.

Yun lang. And there goes my talambuhay for the month of August. Onga pala, shockers. Bukas na bigayan ng report card!! AHHHHHHH!

I recently received this joke on YM by two different people.

guy: do you have a VIOLET parrot?
saleslady: are you from ST. STEPHEN?
guy: how did you know?
saleslady: because you asked for a VIOLET parrot!
guy: so if I asked you if you would havr a BLUE fish, you would say that I'm from CHANK KAI?!
saleslady: most probably
guy: and if I asked you if you have a GREEN love bird, you would say that I'm from ST JUDE?!
saleslady: no! because a JUDENITE will not ask for pets in a FLOWER SHOP!

Now, this does not really prove anything because who said Judenites don't ask for pets in a flower shop?
