hello guys! i'm back i guess, with another supposed-to-be long post. WILL it be long? we'll find out, won't we? :D

So, anyway it all starts out this morning with the computer contest, an IT quiz bee. it was fun to say the least but only because i met richelle who i have known for quite a while but never had a real chance to talk with! I won 2nd actually, but i sucked in all honesty. I forgot James Gosling, of all people! How could I??

But anyway, blah blah blah. parang meron pa akong dapat ikwento... ah!

yesterday there was kang ki (flag ceremony) and you know, as si ni it tso always is, it was so magulo, there were 3 or 4 lines eh di na kami kasya ni ja, so we went to the back and i stepped on a ditch and whoosh! i made "tapilok". ow, it still hurts. di nmn pilay eh, pero may sugat na sa ankle ko. sniff.

THEN this morning, I went to school, dumaan ako sa may likod ng parish as i always do (ron and al behind me. i know their voices. apparently they didnt recognize my back. as if it's not obvious na ako un noh, i mean hello, it's big. :P) so then pag lapit dun sa may guard, na tapilok ulit ako!! i mean, what are the chances?? haha. i just walked on kahit na masakit na super ung sugat but di nman dumugo eh so oh well. the worst part is maraming nakakita! you know i have a reputation to uphold (HAHAHA)

well anyway, feel ko permanently bent na ung ankle ko kc ngaun ngaun lng sa house muntik ulit ako matapilok! grabe, buti di natuloy, my reflexes are sanay na sa clumsiness ko. haha :D

now that the computer and he programs are done kmi nman ni almond magkakaproblema. why? the field trip! it's on dec 16 pero di man lang naaapprove ni mrs albano!! wahhhh....

on a happier note, may nilalaro akong game: The Secret of Monkey Island. it's fun! honestly! kahit na luma na and ugly graphics, it's really cool. bgyan kita cd if you wish. :D matatapos ko na eh. dinownload ko lng nmn ung game sa internet. forgot the site lng nga. kung gusto mo hanapin mo lng sa internet. :D google was invented for a purpose!

Hello, Friday!

No classes today. Should I be happy? I don't know...

BUT the point is, yesterday was the inauguration where the Stephenian Chorale performed. It was all pretty cool and everything except for the fact that all we did was sit around in the AVR drinking salabat (ginger tea, it was good!) and chatting and doing whatever. And oh yeah, eating ChickenJoy and mashed potatoes. No, I am NOT kidding.

And you know, we also had to get our make up done and I, in all honesty, looked like a clown!!! (I was going to say freak, but then again, I don't know what a freak looks like.) But I guess, my make up wasn't the worst, so to speak. There were others who suffered along with me.

Backtrack please....

Yesterday I had lunch with Ana at Wai Ying and it was totally fun and everything! Then we went to Book one to shop for a gift for Mimi who will be having a Disney Princess party (Mimi is 16.) at Mcdo tomorrow but since I'm not going, then I'll just get her something! So, we went and bought this super cute ***** *****. (I'm sorry, but I'm not spoiling the surprise in case Mimi reads my blog. *winks*) (To be honest, I can't wink if my life depended on it, so virtual winks are all that I can do. Sigh.)

Then afterwards we went to school and went to Agape to play Bibleopoly. Except that neither one of us (me or Ana) knew how to play, so well then, forget it, let's play Monopoly. It was super boring... thankfully, Pastor Ed saved us and arrived and invited us to play a game of Scrabble! So we played Scrabble... and I totally sucked. I mean, i think somebody hates me. For one round I got the following letters: AAAEOOU (or something like that) then I used up U and E (for dUE) then for the next round I got AAAIOOO. I mean, hello???? What are the chances?!?!?

So well. That was my day. I mean, that was my yesterday, I guess. That's all. Cheers!

my longest post ever?

So. Today was the "Mathirang Mathibay". *coughcornytitlecough*

Anyhow, the contest started off... okay forget it, i'm switching to kwento mode.

So ganyan. Pumunta ako ng school ng *medyo* maaga, kc kylngn ko pa kunin kay mrs mets yung invitation. But first, I talked to Kathy, Ja and Ana. (kathy was sick...:( ) Then, kinuha ko yung invitation, i went to central office to paxerox and also ask for envelopes (ksama si danette) and then wala lang, un na. we went dun sa may guard to wait for the others. turns out sama pala si justin may contest sa amoranto sports complex. anyway, contestants are: Dream Team! Danette Kevin Willard and alternate Al. Nightmare Team! Charmaine Candice Krizia and alternate Aldrich. Pansin ko lang noh, ung mga ALternate na sina AL at ALdrich parang recurring syllables. But!!! back to the topic.

so we went to up diliman and it was so noisy in the car as always kasi ang gulo gulo ni aldrich but anyway the point is we got there eventually (duh) and then pag baba namin we had to go register and everything, kailangan pang mag pa picture for some strange reason (which i do not know, apparently) so anyway ayun nag picture picture. may booth thingy pa nga ung msa dun and then it was kind of freakish kc the person there was constantly talking to me, parang sales talk, although it was not effective kasi ang mahal mahal ng mga stuff nila!!! i mean imagine, ung set of like i dont know, 100? 200? cards (number 18 card game) is about 168 pesos... hello? they're just pieces of paper!!!! with stuff printed on them, yeah but they're still paper!!!

Also, kailangan naming mamigay ng invite para sa lotm since mga 23 teams pa lang sumali kasi mahirap daw ung contest, walang chance manalo, etc etc. we even tried convincing sir tom to talk to the teacher na taga jubilee pero di ko alam kung tinuloy nya. i gave invites to rizal hs, and a few other schools i dont know. kinausap din ako ng isang taga ateneo, pwede ba daw ilipat sa dec 9, but then i told him, di ako ang nag dedecide, so sorry n lng. kung pwde lang next year ko na gagawin noh. mga i dont know, january?? but then, gusto ni sir, ok lang daw kung maraming conflict. have i mentioned kung gano ka raming conflict on that day????? 1. cmli contest, 2. eco contest, 3. poster making contest, 4. ust hs math camp, 5. india contest. i mean, parang sinadyang sinama lahat... hayyyy.

So yun, elimination round na. Pumila kami sa labas as in under the scorching sun... we were almost literally melting. Buti na lang medyo mabilis lang kmi sa labas kaya, cge ,fine, pila kami. Pag pasok, mga 6 teams lng nasa class room, kc have i mentioned that yung elimination round is GROUP? as in sabay sabay kaming sumasagot. i guess medyo di lang kmi sanay sa bagong system, maayos naman , so anyway, yun. we went on solving. we got like about 10 to 15 answers out of 25 and most of them were wrong anyway. wala kaming nakuha sa diff kahit isa!!! and i was so close!!! wahh...

oo nga pala, bunch of ajss people there. davin, jo, da, jonathan, (and also annabellee... iseeeeen! hehehe. and kyle pala! best friend ni isen yun.) elaine, joson, edmund, and surprise surprise thompson na taga xavier na di ko ineexpect na nandun. di nmn kmi close. di nga kami nag uusap, it's just unusual. di ko alam na magaling pala sya sa math.... nandun din pala si carlo of ateneo math camp na taga grace and we talked a bit but medyo di ko sya pinansin kc distracted ako sa pagdidistribute ng invitation... sorry carlo!!!! but ANYWAY.

we went to lunch in nismed, also where the auditorium where the final round would take place was. We had a little less than two hours to spare. nismed was kind of far from the math dept (even when mr tom chu said it was "malapit". it was kind of "far" for us kasi cyempre it was noon and blazing hot) but still the time was whiled away talking and chatting and all of that stuff.

We came to "Kenneth's Kitchen" something something (forgot the complete name) and i ordered fried chicken since everyone seemed to have ordered that (except for kevin and al who both ordered lasagna and sir tom who ordered embutido. like two pieces lang nga eh, bue kia dit talaga! but then, i guess, what do you expect for 50 pesos. and might i mention that al tried to charm the waitress person but well it didnt work. parehas lang silang dalawang magkapatid. nyahaha!) and also i ordered a strawberry milkshake which for some reason wasnt categorized as a fruit shake unlike candice's and al's bnana shake. nasabihan tuloy si candice na chonggo. which is, you know, actually, what others call ME but hey, you don't hear me complainin' that inaagaw ni candice name ko!

then anyway, i learned a bunch of gossip about kevin making krizia cry because napikon si krizia kay kevin kasi ayaw ni kevin kumanta sa music. bakit ba? ganyan ba kasama boses mo ,kevin? joke!!! anyway, i also learned that mr tan kicked the table which in turn hit or "kicked" however you put it, sharette of 4-V and so by the law of transitivity, mr tan "kicked" sharette. i mean, what??? really???? and he also once grabbed this second year boy named "kevin" also (kevin gaw daw?) by the collar and like, lifted him up and when i found out i was like what!!! grabe naman!!! but anyway the thing is, all this proves is that math nerds know how to gossip too!!! :p

so also during lunch they were solving math... i mean yeah math nerds, you know how we are, then i chanced upon aldrich's theme paper (scratch lang) in english and read it, and i was actually surprised, because, despite some grammatical errors, it was pretty good! and now i dont have to categorize "why aldrich is in the SV" in the list of the world's biggest mysteries (joke lang po. no offense. but honestly nag filipino section sya pero magaling nmn cya english. why dont he just tell his editor na marunong lang cya sa literary filipino. i mean, hey, i dont deny that i dont know how to write news!)

after lunch we headed to the main lobby of nismed where there was a display of some physics stuff which were pretty cool except that they were there since last year when we went to nismed, up diliman for pisikaalaman. so they were nothing new but then again, all ideas for physics projects are welcome!!! then we went around looking at them (si ervin dy sineryoso tlga ung isa dun, ung parang release the chain tangled around the pipe things on the ground) then there was this real cool one na mag bike ka then then a light bulb will light then, a mini fan, then a tv! i mean, it was way neat!

so we went upstairs waited for like 1 minute and then we were in the auditorium! it WAS where the pisikaalaman was held! so we went to the balcony, grabbed seats and bored ourselves to death. no, actually, inannounce kung cno pumasok sa quarter finals. pasok sila danette. but they were like the 3rd batch pa so we had to wait for the first two batches to finish. buti n lng we didnt stay till like, 7 pm, which we might have stayed until, if danette's group had gotten in the finals.

so, for the rest of the contest, i read the alchemist and finished it even, read archie which danette brought, and ate the sandwich i brought, and also fell asleep. (pinicturan pa ako ni krizia... ack!) then tapos na, i didnt even know what happened during the contest, just did nothing, it was wayyyyyyy boring (no offense) then the 3rd batch was done and we were leaving because di pasok sila danette sa next round.

then we went home! on the way it was super super magulo pero masaya din i guess kasi si al was like acting all homo like which was disturbing, and he was falling all over aldrich (who might i mention wala nang boses since this morning... i mean, pano cya mag eemcee!!! oh right. i havent mentioned that he's the replacement emcee for aaron because of aaron joining cmli... gusto nmn ni aldrich eh.) and then aldrich moved beside me then it was rather crowded on our side then haynako basta! ang init pa naman nun! nahilo tuloy si candice.

si al at kevin bumaba na sa bahay nila, then i went to school pa for some reason ( dapat mag chochorale kaso lang tapos na pala, kinuha ko n lng el fili ko from the locker.) then went right home and enjoyed my day.

BUT di pa tapos ang kwento!!! after dinner at home, there's banana for dessert, then what do i do, i put them in a blender and whoooosh, banana shake! :D see? marunong din ako gumawa noh! ako lang nagenjoy kasi ayaw nila mama and papa and everyone else. fine, ang sarap sarap nga eh!

and here ends charmaine's day. my eyes look like this na @.@ and i have been sleeping at midnight for the past few days, no wonder i look like @.@. so, goodnight, God bless! it's 11:38 pm, and time for me to sleep! thanks!

On a more "serious" note

23 teams na ang LotM, which isn't quite so bad. I mean, db parang makakacontest naman tau with 23 teams. BUT of course we should not be satisfied with "just enough". In order to succeed... we must force Kevin DY to call each and every school and use his *ahem* manly charms (ayon kay Candice) to convince the schools to join since Charmaine's non-existent charms (despite being named CHARMaine) have no use whatsoever.

Anyway, the other day (Sunday) we joined Lakad Masa which was a walk from Quirino Grandstand to the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. We being Ana, Riezeryl, Danette, Ivane, and a bunch of other people. It was a long walk (but not as long as the Rotary Alay Lakad) and it was awfully hot and since Riezeryl for some reason wanted to walk up front, Sir Raps made us carry the banner!! And we couldn't hide behind the tarpaulin anymore! Sniff.

I want to say more but I'm sleepy. And I have a contest called Mathirang Matibay tomorrow at UP Diliman. Remember what I said about corny titles?

Speaking of which, congrats to Danette, Russell and Mark for winning first in the Chemaphy 2006. Chemistry. Math. Physics. Forget what I said before. This is the corniest title EVER.

Lately I've been feeling down... due to things such as:

1. Ruined shoe (as demonstrated in previous post)
2. Math Club thingies (in which nothing has been happening. AT ALL. Mrs M is gonna kill me.)
3. Rush of school work (I havent taken my tsong hap and kok bun tests yet!!!!)
4. MTG
5. CAT

BUT several things have pepped me up!

5. Nancy Drew rescue during boring MTG session (thanks to Shari)

In short, things have been pretty crazy, which is normal, if you ask me!

So. I was like checking out my blog, and guess what? I realized na wala pa pala akong nakkwento tungkol sa FEU Essay thingy and Sipnayan!!!

Well then, here goes!

*Kwento mode*

So, yun. FEU. Medyo late na kmi umalis from the school kc sabi daw may hinihintay kaming kasabay. PERO di na sumipot yung kasabay kaya mga 8 am na kami umalis, eh 8 am naman yung start ng program. Tuloy pag dating namin sa FEU mga 8 something na. But anyway, we (actually, Mrs. Bueno. Si Danica at ako ay wlang gnawa kundi mag tawanan. At magbasa pala ng garfield. BUT anyway.) asked around for directions pero ang weird weird ng mga tao sa FEU di nila alam. Pero buti na lang may nakakita sa amin na organizer ata ng contest who then led us to the venue, which was a small room na medyo maliit (a bit smaller than music room/chorale room) but still it was a nice place, rather clean and neat kahit na medyo malamig. So. Um. Ahh... uhhhhhhh...

oh yeah!!! nakita ko sina tonibelle at mavie and nagkwentuhan, kamustahan and well, masaya. 3 lang kmi AJSSers. So un, nung nagstart, ok ok pa ako. Topic: Do reality shows make good television? So there, I wrote. TONS of stuff. As in 2 pcs of paper scratch ko. But I managed to finish it, but with an uber lousy title: Skyrocketing to Stardom, which doesnt even make any sense, but anyway I was pretty confident because I actually wrote okay, for an essay. So after writing, may tour daw pero naglunch muna kami, at mga 10:30 am!!! anyway, lunch lunch lunch.... Then, Danica and I walked around FEU (dami tumitingin sa amin... the purple school daw kc... hehehe) parang tour then may nakita kami parang seed/brain/fruit thingies (na matigas, not slimy or anything. yuck. galing sa puno eh...) on the ground then whoosh! we were treating it as a soccer ball. hehe. wheeeee.... si danica galing sumipa...

so, yan, bumalik kami, then announcement of winners... BUT FIRST each of the contestants have to go up on the platform (coz it wasnt much of a stage) and say something about the experience yada yada... so yan salita salita, I was last kc nga late kami, pero di ko na lalagay d2 kung ano sinabi ko kc super LAME. So, announce winners. Talo ako. Aw.... but it's ok. First time ko nman, no reason for me to give up!!! *sparkling eyes* St. Jude nanalo. Um. yeah.

Tapos na essay! for like, 2 hours we did nothing. actually we just sat around outside the auditorium waiting for extempo to start. nagregister si danica, but first! gusto namin magCR (actually ako lang. nahawa kay eninaj. hehe.) then magCCR kami PERO nakalock! nkita kmi ni mang Jani (tor) then pinapasok kami sa backstage ng audi! Naks adventure. haha. anyway, may nakita kami african american person super tall like THIS as in taller than zach pa nga. babae!!! whoo. then wala lang. experience.

So start na contest. Danica was taken away by the aliens, este, the organizers. me and mrs. bueno enter the auditoriumie. (ala katherine grace :D) then then then...!!!! ayaw kami papasukin!!! WHAT? EVIL!!! KASI DAW may pagkain ako, sandwich. and water. so what did I do? I drank my whole bottle of water and kept my sandwich in my pocket!!! then pinapasok na ako hehe... di naman ako baliw na isusubo ko ung sandwich ng buo noh. hahahahah.

so!!!!!!!!!! tantatanantanan!!! The contest is starting!!! in like, 45 mins. Seriously super tagal. dapat tawaging UH ang FEU as in university of hintay. (haha, corny joke) but anyway start na! Danica was still abducted, este, backstage. The topic was...... Should freedom of speech be compromised for peace? or something like that... yeah speech speech boring boring, then may isang nagspeech na parang naks ok to ah, but then medyo ahem, basta. (lalaki po cya) then pag baba nya sa stage kita ko kasama nya... whoops, chiang kai pala. ehehehehe... well, magaling naman eh. then blah blah boring boring boring... then DANICA! whooo! PERO bwisit, biglang may tumawag sa cellphone ni Mrs Bueno!!! Si Atinon. Like HELLO? Grabe ang timing!!!!!!! Buti na lang ok lang si danica, not disturbed (well nasa stage naman and i dont think narinig nya na malakas boses ni mrs bueno but still!! the concentration!!! like poof! it became coco crunch! corny joke #200... BASTA!) pero mga 1 minute lang cya nagspeech. i thought it was ok naman, kc hello? DANICA!!! Ang galing galing nya... pero i think malaki yung demerit dahil sa short speech.... then pag balik ni danica sa seats, lumabas kami at naglakad lakad. kinain ko na ang refugee sandwich ko... hehehe...

then pagbalik namin sa audi natulog muna ako then sabi ni mam bueno uwi na daw kmi. so home we go.

Dear Stupid Diary

My stupid stupid web browser shut down on me!!!! I have to type everything again!!! Augh!!!
But still, because I do care about you, my beloved readers, I have to write. So, here goes.
This morning, I woke up for the GMATIC which was in Grace Christian HS. GMATIC stands for Grace Mathineers Interschool Competition. Which is not as corny as Lord of the Math which is the corniest in the history of corny titles, followed by MATHirang MATHibay, AGHAMon, PISIKAalaman, and so on and so forth. But anyway, so I went to school where I got into the car that took us to Grace.
In the car we (namely, me, Danette, Candice, Kevin, Aldrich, Willard, and Sir Tom) discussed about a whole list of stuff including of course the best topic in the history of good topics--Chinese Teachers. (Cyempre si Sir di nakipagkwentuhan sa amin tungkol sa chinese teacher)
Once we got to Grace, we were just being crazy, talking with Clarisse (who I just met today) and playing the write-letter-form-word game and laughing our heads off, which was fun, of course. And sayang tlga kc wla yung guy na hinahanap ko... :( Although, nakita ko si Carlo. Tska sila davin and the other mtg people.
BUT ANYWAY, yun, nag elimination, nagtest kmi ng written tapos feel ko parang, hello? may pag asa pa ba ako, tapos i was feeling bad kc kawawa naman mga teammates ko na sila Candice at Aldrich who did their best but THEN dahil sa akin mapupull down scores nila.
After ng test, nag usap kmi then tanong tanong kmi sagot then we had lunch, which was okay. Most of us ordered chicken teriyaki (ahem, terriyake pala) kasi daw mas "safe".
After lunch, we were waiting for the results of the elimination exam kung pasok ba kami sa semi finals, although medyo di na ako nag aasa pa na makakapasok kami although ang dream team na sila Danette, Willard, at Kevin, ineexpect namin na pumasok. And pumasok naman sila, then super gulat namin nang tinawag din kmi kc super di namin ineexpect. So akyat kami, tawa ako ng tawa na parang baliw. Then nung nasa easy round na, 4 points lang kmi kaya medyo depressed kami, pero chinicheeran namin sila danette kc nga sila yung ineexpect tlga manalo. but then pag dating ng average round wla kaming nakuha! But then dahil masayahin kami tawa pa rin kmi ng tawa. SA difficult, at last, may nasagutan kami, TATLO! Yeah! FAvorite ko yung isang problem na sinX*cosX = 60/169. find sinX + cosX. iniisip ko naman, ano pwde panghula... 13? kc no idea tlga kami. then naisip ko, di ba may right triangle na 5, 12, 13?? so yun na nilagay namin, 17/13. and YES tama!!! Whooooooooooo! TAWA NG MALAKAS!
so yun. well, 19 pts. ok na un. pang 8 kami out of 24 teams. sila danette 7th. Buti pa si sir tom... kaysa kay ****... haha.. ahem.
Then we went back to school, sa ATC lang kmi exempted naman kami. Naglaro lang kmi ni aldrich at kevin at danette at candice ng PANTS (Place, Animal, Name, Thing, Score). Ang daya daya ni aldrich kasi sa name, naglalagay sya ng mga kung ano ano tulad ng Bince at Yeye. as if may name na ganun, pero kinonsider naman kc nga names. but anyway, later on pinalitan namin para maging People, Adjective, Nature, Food, Score (PANFS) and so naglaro kmi tatlo ni kevin at aldrich. tapos nagkatuwaan kami tawa ako ng tawa pa rin kc may sinulat si kevin FAIR'S SOUP kung ano man yun. hahahah....
then nung uwian, nakakainis ung mga taong un iniwan ako!!!!! just left me there erasing the board... but anyway paglabas ko nakita ko sila anabelle at janine at pumunta kami canteen bili ako shake, bili janine patty, then punta kami RBX, meet Dianne S. and Mimi, then go RBX then kain sila ako hindi then un na......................................

Three posts in one day? Is that a new record for me?

Anyway, things have been happening in the past few days....

1. I got in the yearbook committee!!! Along with Kathy!!! YAY! But... speaking of Kathy...
2. She got hit by typhus AND dengue! Poor Kathy... but we visited her and she was semi-fine so I guess she'll be fine! And besides we've all been praying for her! :D
3. I was sick for two days and I was knocked out... well not really, but I was absent for two days after which I had such a hard time catching up... but still, well, the math club thing is done... i think..... and um... school notes are also semi done... anyway!!! IT's fine.... i guess.

That's all, I think. And Sunday's the acet for me! wish me luck!!!! :D i hope I do well! :D

my 3 day journal of events (that is, the seniors' camp)

Being part of the graduating class has brought countless blessings to me.
In a way, this symbolizes how God blesses us as we grow and mature in His name.
Today marks the first day of our Seniors' Camp.
I only hope that this would become a new beginning for another life ahead of us.


Seniors' Camp "B Clik"
September 7-9, 2006
Development Academy of the Philippines, Tagaytay

Day 1 September 7
I woke up early in the morning, scratching the gunk out of my eyes. A tiny peek at my cell phone (which also serves as my alarm clock-slash-timekeeper) and WHAT THE--
I was late!
It was precisely 5:47 am. I barely had time to actually do something, let alone brush my teeth, freshen up and run to school in record time. I scrambled to get up, only to fall down again because I was tangled in my sheets. Grumbling, I wrestled with my bed sheets and finally, after struggling for control, I was free at last!
But enough about my waking up on the wrong side of the bed. I got to school, arriving about 10 minutes after six, fairly early, considering the fact that I woke up late. Once at school, I met up with my friends, and frankly, compared bag sizes. Sadly, mine was enormous for a hand carry and looked titanic in comparison to my friends'.
Minutes later, we were ready to board the buses (we were Bus#5) but first, we had to get in line to get our "hand carry" bags checked by Mrs. Recosana, our adviser. The boys had theirs checked by Mr. Rapisora, who was a lot stricter (and may I mention, who was also our Bus Marshall).
Once aboard the bus, Abi, that is, my seatmate, and I were in a a bit of a dilemma because there weren't any more seats left! Thankfully though, we just overlooked a couple of empty rows up front, so we were saved!
As the bus left, Sir Raps announced a bit of stuff, like rules and such, and then at last, we were free to have fun!
We immediately dug into our stashes of junk food and soft drinks and enjoyed like never before.
The journey to sunny and not-so-warm Tagaytay was long and tiring, but nothing prevented any of us from joining in on the fun and laughter. Abi, however, was obviously tired for some reason, and was asleep for almost the entire trip, and this induced a sleepiness in me which I succumbed to about halfway along SLEX.
It's said that field trips are generally more fun in the bus, and I totally agree. I mean, it's where you get to share all your innermost craziness without having to keep quiet or behave.
Finally we arrived at Tagaytay! The temperature dropped noticeably and the roads looked a lot more different. Small huts littered along the street, with bananas, pineapples, and other fruits hanging from their facades. Brightly colored buildings, which I later learned were hotels and inns, stood by towering palm trees. As we went on, we reveled in the majesty of the great wonder which was Taal, standing in all its volcanic glory. I was not able to take a decent picture of it, though, me being slow and not at all nimble. I had to fumble with my cell phone for minutes before managing to set in on camera mode, by which I was too late because the bus was moving.
Another Kodak moment (or rather, view) almost passed me by when the bus went past the pineapple plantation. There were little green hills that were fully covered with pineapple plants. It was my first time seeing these things so I was truly amazed.
We arrived at DAP soon after. At first we were all, "This is DAP??" but when we stepped down the bus, I walked around to enjoy the fresh air that was as cool as it was sweet. We were greeted by a welcome drink (mango juice) as we wandered around the lobby, but first I rushed to the restroom! 
After the brief visit to the restroom, I went to check the room assignments posted in the lobby. I was in Room 327, with "Atsi" Janette Ong, the counselor. Hopefully, this was good news, but at that point, I wasn't quite sure.
I headed to the auditorium where, after a brief picture taking session while waiting for another bus to arrive, we were treated to a brief orientation, after which was an inspiring message by Reverend Burton Williams about sacrifice. He said that a life for God must be a life of sacrifice. Only in this way will God be able to use us as instruments of His plans. He cannot work through us unless we follow Him completely and leave our old lives behind. It really struck a chord in me because it cleared up one of the reasons why I hesitate to go all out in serving God.
After the message, we all went to the BBQ Patio for a photo shoot and then, it was lunch time!
One satisfying meal later, my roommates, Ana, Janine, Abi, and I took our luggage and went to our respective rooms to unpack and meet our counselor. I was kind of wondering what Atsi Janette would be like. Would she be boring? Would she be tedious? Would she be old as a bat and do nothing but sleep (although I doubt this one)?
Thankfully, Atsi Janette was nothing but nice. She was friendly, and most importantly, she was not boring at all! The good thing is, she was also my study counselor, aside from being my room counselor!
So far, I was pleased with the whole thing. The place was rather old, and not as glamorous as I initially expected, but thing is, if it was all Shangri-la, we wouldn't get to concentrate on what we were supposed to be doing there in the first place: to worship God and to learn more about Him and His Word.
Later on, we sang a few songs like "I Wanna Be Like Jesus" which is a lovely song because it encourages Christians to do all they can to achieve Christ-likeness, which is something a lot of Christians lack.
Then came what we were all waiting for! "Game K N B?" was an "Amazing Race"-type of challenge where each group had to run around DAP, which was pretty tough because it was all new to us, and accomplish tasks assigned to each station. But first, the whole group had to memorize Bible verses ranging from easy to downright impossible.
It was not an easy task, definitely, but it was made much worse when my group was paired with a group of boys from 4-Violet who couldn't care less if we ended up in last place, but with a few words of encouragement (and even reprimanding), they finally toned down their horsing around and got to memorizing. We finished only 7 tasks out of 15 however, which is to be honest, pathetic, but still, it was no reason to lose hope!
During the game, things began going downhill for me. I felt feverish, and my throat hurt, but I drank lots of water to see if the feeling would go away. It didn't.
By dinner, I was feeling worse. I asked for medicine from the nurse and she gave me Biogesic, but I didn't feel any better after taking it.
After the meal, it was singspiration once again. I felt better while singing praises to God, and I thanked Him silently for it. After singing, there was another message by Rev. Williams, this time about following God with the heart of a servant. Rev. Williams gave four examples of men after God's own heart: Samson, with the heart of a strong man; David, with the heart of a shepherd; Solomon, with the heart of a leader; and Joseph, with the heart of a servant. The first three failed to completely follow the Lord because they fell into sin by yielding to lust, while Joseph, although given the chance, did not, and thus, he ended up becoming the 2nd most powerful man in all of Egypt, with men and women bowing down to him.
This is definitely an eye-opener because it made me realize that following God is not all obeying and worshipping Him. We have to do all this with the will and humility, but most importantly, we need discipline, to be able to emerge as the victor at the end of it all.
Next came "Standing in the Gap". What was 'Standing in the Gap"? What we did was pray for the camp, pray for the students, and basically pray for everything. It was a rejuvenating experience, because it proved that we were putting everything in God's hands and trusting Him completely.
The following activity was B-Group, or simply, Group Discussion. The group met with the study counselors, (the group mates were different from the roommates) and we were told that each one of us need to undergo counseling with the counselor. We scheduled our times, and off to bed we go.
The day was eventful and great, and I learned so much. I hope that the second day will be just like it, if not better.



Day 2 September 8
The next morning, I thought I felt pretty good, compared to the day before, so I went ahead and took a shower. Bad idea. The water was freezing! I was almost shivering after the shower and this did not do my already sodden state any good. Therefore, my fever got worse, and the whole morning, I was feeling drowsy and I almost slept through the whole thing.
First thing after breakfast was another "Standing in the Gap" where we prayed again (and of course, I prayed for myself so that I would get better quickly).
The B-Silent part that came after was actually Quiet Time or Daily Devotion where we read God's message for the day through the help of material such as "Daily Bread" or "Campus Journal", but in our case, our material was already printed in the handbooks!
Singspiration. We sang this song called, "Let Everything That Has Breath" which is so upbeat and cheerful that although I was sick, I couldn't help singing along and tapping to the beat.
Then! Another message, this time by Pastor Jebo Banzuelo. The thing about Pastor Banzuelo is that he's a lot younger than Rev. Williams; therefore, he didn't have a hard time trying to reach to us, because he was "into the times" and he knows what goes with the younger generation. I'm not exactly saying that he understands us only because he's young. He does try to make an effort, and besides, he's Filipino, so we relate more.
After the message was Bible Study. We reviewed a psalm written by David, which basically tells about the Lord's goodness and faithfulness. I couldn't remember the exact details, because as I said, I was sick, so I couldn't concentrate on what was being discussed.
The counselors and staff had a meeting afterwards, so technically, it was free time for us. We went back to our rooms, and I felt terrible. I spent the rest of the afternoon in my room with the camp nurse, Mrs. Angie Salvador. She was very nice and everything although others think that she's standoffish, but in fact, she isn't, at least to me. I don't know if that's only because I'm sick, or she's just nicer to me, because, I don't know. Because I speak Chinese?
But anyway, after dinner I felt a whole lot better. I guess rest does help. I then went to listen to the final message, by Pastor Banzuelo. He asked for a commitment from each of us, which we wrote on little pieces of paper, and put into a box in front one by one. It was a rather touching moment, but it was kind of ruined because people were laughing and talking to each other. Well, we're high school students. It's unavoidable.
After that was the Praise Night which they, my classmates and students from other sections, all prepared for. Keyword: they. I was in my room while they were rehearsing for it.
Still, it was fun watching the groups perform. Although some of them just simply ruined the whole thing by doing stuff like imitating teachers and disrespecting other religions, they were funny, although annoying. After the performances of each section, a counselor led us in singing a lot of songs, some solemn and some upbeat, and the whole event was truly inspiring and touching. It was more at this point that I began to think seriously about serving God because He is so great and majestic, and so many people are willing to sacrifice for Him. Why? There must be a reason for all of this, and I wanted to make it my mission to find out just what this reason is.
Although I was still sick, I enjoyed the day a lot, especially the Praise Night because I feel so blessed having the chance to be part of this Christian family and worship and praise God together.



Day 3 September 9
When I woke up, my fever was almost gone, but I did AGAIN the unimaginable: I took a shower. A freezing, subzero temperature shower that would definitely kill me. And there went my day.
I spent the whole morning in my room with the nurse and another guy who was also sick. I just slept the whole morning. I missed the testimony of my classmates, and I didn't share mine, too! (Although I really didn't have much to share.) I even missed the whole closing ceremony.
During the bus trip home, I was feeling fine, so I decided to join in on the fun once more. I truly got to enjoy the ride back to Manila because I got to talk with my friends and chat with them. I sat beside Rachelle this time, because she was sick, too.

Conclusion
The camp was one of the most inspiring events that have ever happened to me, but without my friends, it would have been meaningless. By the end of the school year, we will be going our separate ways, but I believe that our hearts will feel far from empty as we bring our treasured memories, together with our Christian faith, along with us as we continue walking on the path of life.

Panda-let

Hm. Seems that in the past 36 or so hours wherein I wasn't able to update my blog, I have been given a new nickname. Abi did it.

Panda daw. Bkt? Malay. But I loved it anyway.

Names aside, I recently went through two important things. 1) Mr. Rapisora's CAT exam; and 2) the UPCAT

For both, we all expected the tests to be impossible to answer and really tough, but it came as a surprise when it wasn't as hard as we thought.

That's kind of a lame update, I know. But I'm not in the mood.

Blogging Once A Day Keeps The Boredom Away

Honestly. What happened to the good old days when you could turn on the computer and amuse yourself for hours? I mean, take Friendster. Once upon a time, I could entertain myself with Friendster and not grow bored. And what happened? Poof! Gone in a second.

Of course, there's still Fiction Press and Fan Fiction.net who strive to make the world a better place. How about that? But then again, I believe in a thing called "Reader's Block" and I'm sure all of you readers out there know what I'm talking about.

What about games? Go to Yahoo!, there are games. Go to MSN, there are games. Go to Friendster, there are games. Games are EVERYWHERE!

But anyway, forget about that.

Yesterday I went to this concert in Chiang Kai Shek, because Kathy was performing in it. She wasn't the only one. Daniel William Yu was there. Haha. (Sabi ni Abi, kamukha daw ni Calvin...) And also, Steph Pua! Galing galing nya! Hehehe...

And there was this old geezer/author guy who was singing (More like hollering.) but he sounded horrible. And he sang TWICE. SIX songs. Ugh. Terrible. During the second time, some people began standing up and leaving. I think the guy noticed.

Speaking of old geezers, there was another one who was the rudest, most &%#$@# jerk I have ever seen! I mean, we were reserving seats for Dianne K and Eric, then just as they came, abovementioned old geezer#2 came along and asked "Hia u lang tse bo? (Is anyone sitting there?)" We (Abi and I) replied yes, and that the people who are sitting there are standing right beside you. And what did he do? He said,"Ah, in to m tse ah. (Well, they aren't sitting.) And goes the seat and plops his big fat butt on the chair!!! I mean, hello??? What about those people standing there expecting to find a seat and finds and old geezer there??? JERK!!!!!!

Not just that, he was so uncivilized and impolite. I can't believe he's Chinese. Chinese are supposed to be courteous. And he's old!!! He clapped really loudly in the middle of the song... fell asleep about halfway through the concert. (I was tempted to throw him out.) I HATE HIM! WHOEVER HE IS!!!

I am so bored.

i'm just bored, to be honest. i mean, really bored. there's only so much email to be read, and come on, friendster is boring. you can't just add everyone as your friend. who knows? one of them might turn out a mad axe murderer or something. anyway, i decided to blog, so here I am. typing with one hand, because I'm eating cheese bread with the other. actually ubos na cheese bread ko, kanina pa, nung nasa "something" ako. hehe... but really, I'm bored.

So anyway! Mukha ba akong teddy bear? totoo? kc sa ajss, lhat kmi may award, tpos nakuha ko teddy bear award. hahah.... nkakatuwa nga eh... heh :P

today pala, narinig ko at last ung boses ni Daniel William Yu! Hahha... ang galing galing nya tlga sobra kumanta, nakaka-in love! pero di ko cya crush noh, boses lng nmn nya ung gusto ko kc di ko makita ung face nya kanina. yeah, knina. kc, may "walkathon" daw, eh super walang kwenta kc tumayo lng kmi sa savory chicken sa may escolta for like, one hour, tapos umulan! pero khit na umuulan, naglakad pa rin kmi! cge, lakad... tapos lumakas ung ulan! as in super!!! kaya naghintay kmi sa may jollibee sa quintin paredes (kung saan ako nag birthday party nung 6 years old ako at nagkaLBM ang lahat ng guests) ng matagal... so ayan na, nababasa na kami. tapos humina na ung ulan kaya cge lakad pa, hanggang lorenzo ruiz plaza kung saan may nagsasalita (speech daw). tapos national anthem... bayang magiliw... tpos na rin un! tapos sunod national anthem ng china.... blahblah.... tapos na rin! so at last, mag eexchange na kmi ng food. kc dun pa lng sa savory habang naghihintay, bngyan kmi ng plastic bag with bottled water at siopao pero bawal daw kainin kc nga gagamitin nmin un pang exchange. ang cute nga ng idea. may flag pa pala kmi.... so yun. nag exchange. nakakakuha kmi ng philippine flag tska biko at tubig. tapos pinaupo kmi. kaso puno na ung place. basa pa nga ung mga chair kc nga umulan db... so ayan naghanap kmi ng chair, pero wla na eh. buti n lng may mga gentleman (taga SSHS!!! nakakagulat. kala ko nawala na lahat ng gentleman sa school) na nagpaupo sa amin. so yan umupo kmi. tapos nakinig kmi ng speech tapos may choir from chiang kai na kumanta.... di nmn gaano kaganda.... (no offense sa mga nagbabasa) kala ko nga nakita ko si tonibelle dun, pero di nmn pala cya. tapos ng choir lumabas si daniel william yu! kumanta cya! The promise ata un, di ko na maalala. basta un, kumanta cya, kinilig lhat ng babae. (haha joke) then tapos na!!! pumunta kmi sa bahay ni kathy at sumabay papuntang school kung saan nagtambay muna kmi sa csa room kasama si kathy at si abi at nagdaldalan lng kmi habang naggugupit ng lettering para sa csa exhibit na dapat ay gnagawa ni abi, kaso di cya gumagawa. anyway, nag chorale kmi mga 10:30, kumanta... tapos uuwi na dapat. kaso tinatamad pa ako kaya tinext ko mama ko kung pwde kmi maglunch ni abi sa labas, pero ayaw ni mama, kaya umuwi n lng kmi. umuwi ako kasabay si denice at nagkwentuhan lng... the end! grabe haba ng kwento ko noh. actually para lang tlga akong nagkwento kc obviously di cya formal. taglish to the max. puro "tapos". bilangin mo na lang kung ilang "tapos" pag gusto mo. hehehe... cge, hanggang dito n lng... tinatamad na rin ako tska wla na rin akong makwento.

Things I learned this summer:

1. How to separate DNA from a banana... sa Mapua to... really cool stuff. imagine seeing the white fluffy thingy coming out of the liquid banana mixture... tapos u get to see it under a microscope! haha... may picture sana...
2. Sudoku... sa in house nmn ito! Thanks to Bless, my neighbor na di ko kilala until nag in house kmi. hehe. nasa taas lng cya pero di ko cya nakikita! :P ang galing nga nya mag sudoku eh... kming tatlo ni danette nag aanswer. nakakamiss na tlga.
3. Masaya mag ingay sa mcdo. lalo na nung bday ni dianne krupasa. :) it was loads of fun! :D
   
4. How to commute to ateneo every single day. nakakatamad. but it was all for a good cause.
   
5. Matrices, courtesy of Ma'm Queena... galing nya super! anyway, matrices "make you feel like a computer". so true. I almost failed the test! C+ ata ako d2!!! T_T... Actually AJSS is the second time I took up matrices... the first time was just as horrible...
6. Linear Programming... this is just awesome! It's a great technique, but then again, it's math, so however awesome it is, it's just full of technical stuff that again, "makes you feel like a computer".
   
7. Combinatorics... I did better in this than in the others. Um... dapat lang. I have been taking up combinatorics in MTG ever since.... forever! Hahaha....
8. Nakaka-adik ang C2. Honestly. Sobrang tamis ng C2 lemon. C2 green tea nmn wlang lasa. masarap ang c2 apple at c2 peach. di ko pa natry ung c2 iced tea lemon whatever. ano ba pagkakaiba nun sa c2 lemon? hmmm....
9. sabi daw ung pasta sa ateneo parehas lng araw araw, iniiba lng ung sauce at toppings. i forgot who said that. haha. nabasa ko lng sa blog ng isang tao. :)
10. kahit na di ako naiyak nung aj graduation, namiss ko pa rin ung buong experience, tska ung mga lessons, and especially the people who were a part of it. thanks so much for it all.
11. advantage pala ung mga advanced classes na kinukuha ko every summer with mr roque. medyo parehas cya dun sa english namin sa ajss. :)
12. magandang libro ang catcher in the rye. marami lang ngang bad words.
13. super ok ang psychology. pero hndi cya ok kapag tinatamad akong mag aral ng notes na binibigay na halos xerox copy ng buong book na 400+ pages long. but still!!! i love psych. love love love. all of us should try it sometime. it was sooooooooooo cool!!! haha. why? kasi, its so easy to relate to. parang, lahat ng sinasabi ng teacher, i understand totally kasi i have encountered a case like it at least once in my life! gusto ko nang mag psych! hahahahahahahahahahaha. kaya beware pag kausap mo ko. i will psycho analyze you! haha. jke lng, i'm not that good. :P
14. i wasted the last few days of my summer playing sims 2 on the xbox. masaya pero walang kwenta. haha. whatever.

that is all!!! tomorrow i have to go to school for the teachers assembly. i dont plan to listen anyway. i plan to chat chat chat with my friends. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee.................................. :P
