The Evils of Maltesers

Saturday, January 20, 2007

The field trip yesterday was neither fun nor exciting. It's boring but still interesting at the same time. Go figure.

So the day started with me waking up at about 5 something. I took my time preparing, enjoying the free reign of the CR since my sister was still asleep. Then at about 6:30 (i think. my mind's messed up) I went on my merry way to school!

I came to school and medyo naligaw pa ako kc i didn't know where our bus was. I saw Jerick and asked him and he pointed to this bus, but it wasn't our bus, but then I eventually saw our bus which was right beside the bus that Jerick pointed to. I went up the bus and hello ana, hello ja, etc etc.

Then all of a sudden, in the middle of sharing snacks and DSes, Danica came up and said that we should all go to the HS Quadrangle now! Seriously!! (Because apparently, she thought we thought she was joking.) Then we all went to the quadrangle, grumbling and complaining like we do best.

In the quadrangle, we (Kathy me and Zach) continued our DS session, got my USB from Isen who got it from Candice who saved the LOTM pics there (watch out for these!), met Krizia and Candice, and went to the line (as in pila) and listened to mrs albano and mrs lelan chua talk during which we didn't really listen anyway. Except for the part wherein we wouldn't be going to Jollibee Plant anymore. WHAT??? AWWW MAN!!!

Wala nga pala si janine a, nichelle and willard. di kami kumpleto. awwwww... but faye and kenzie from 4 violet joined us, but as if they would feel like part of the group. even I didn't feel like part of THE group.

After that we went to the bus and waited like, half an hour or so before we finally departed. They're delaying on purpose. Hmph.

The trip was fine. I was eating, playing DS, eating, talking, and eating. (No wonder I'm a fat pig) When we almost arrived at Bioresearch, 2 people threw up and I was also about to follow suit. And trust me, I rarely feel sick during car travel. The driver was no driver. He was the "step-on-the-gas-then-brake-suddenly"er. I hate him. Grrrr....

When we finally stopped, I wanted to follow that girl in "The Pacifier". You know, the one who jumped off the car, screamed "LAND!", then proceeded to kiss the ground. Except for, you know, the kissing part, because that's just sick. It's ok if you're in America where the sidewalk isn't filled with horse feces and/or random bits of garbage.

So we entered Bioresearch (we were the first to enter) and they gave us fish! But I hate, i mean, dislike all kinds of fish (Except fish fillet) so I gave mine to Ja who asked for everyone's fishies. (since she is after all, the forest ranger I MEAN the vet.) Ja ended up with 9 fishes, by the way. :D tiny slimy little things.

Bioresearch had lots of fish. and hamsters. and fish. and rabbits. and more fish. There was this big big BIG fish whose name I couldn't remember. it was 8 feet long!!! that's almost twice my height. I feel so insignificant.

So basically bioresearch should not be called a "pet store" but a "fish and rodent store" and probably also called "the store with only 2 restrooms and no flush". yeah, sucks doesnt it?

when we went to the CR, Rosa, Mickey, and Snow White were there (pardon the nicknames.) and we (me Ja Ana Sarah) being the "ho hak seng" that we were *coughcough* we let the teachers first. (actually it was ja's idea. i'm not that much of a martyr)

then we went to the bus and waited for a long long time. mga 1 to 2 hours. i basically did what I did on the way to bioresearch except this time the school gave us one chickenjoy meal with a peach mango pie! yay (although i prefer choco mallow pie. i remembered when we did our h.e proj in jollibee and joshua had this peach mango pie that he didnt want anymore (why he was in jollibee with us, i have no idea. not that i'm complaining) and it just so happened that i was craving for a choco mallow pie so ja told me to trade the peach mango pie for a choco mallow pie sa counter na lang para di sayang and i did! they didnt say a word. probably because i said na mali ung bigay nila. i'm such a liar. even for a choco mallow pie.)

ah i almost forgot! kennard u (yes kennard uy who always seems to have his picture taken without him knowing) came on to our bus to take pics for the js program and since i had consumed a few maltesers myself that morning, i was really hyper and (i think) freaked kennard out. i find that i do that a lot. sorry. as i said in a previous post, blame the maltesers.

then we were on our merry way to.... uh... to... oh yeah!! mv doulos! it was far. imagine, sucat paranaque all the way to south harbor which is somewhere near roxas boulevard. it was during this trip that janine told me the story about the wild and wherein we almost finished the entire pack of maltesers. abi and ana also played ds against isen with almond and ashley (sorry ash forgot you also cheered for isen, which makes almond not a one man cheerleading team anymore) until the ds isen was using (which was kathy's) ran out of battery.

(so my previous post starting to make sense now?)

so we came to mv doulos. it's not a very big boat, but it's big enough to house 350 people, so that's big enough i guess. there was a presentation inside the ship (it's a ship not a boat... right.) A video first showing lots of diff people from diff countries saying things in diff languages which we didnt understant (duh) then afterwards was a video showing us how things worked in the doulos (which didnt really explain what they did, just what they are.. um, doing. you don't get me.)

Anyway, after the videos these people about 7 of them came and greeted us in their languages. there were 3 koreans (who by the way was yelled at when they greeted us with "anyong haseyo", you know, it was like "KOREAN!!!!!!" and i am SO not exaggerating) there was this girl who spoke in spanish ( i mean come on we know spanish) but of course since almost half of all the countries in the world spoke spanish, how would we know were she was from? some guy said mexico... which i might have said if i were not thinking of spain. so anyway turns out she was from chile. that was nice. why? i dont know. she was a really nice lady. very "game".

NEXT was a filipina. and she got yelled at too. (FILIPINO!!!!!!!!!!) she was just volunteering for 2 weeks though. (awww...) then last was a woman who spoke in english. we all said she was american. she wasn't. she was canadian. and then the presentation!!!

it was a song/rhyme/action/drama. i dont know what you call it. it was a nice presentation, not just because it was funny but because it was so... i dont know. rhythmic. :D (the ballerina was just disturbing. nakakatuwa ung carpenter. we all went BANG! haha...)

after the presentation the emcee person (from germany. i checked her id.) called on the chilean lady to come and demonstrate how to use a life jacket. it was like a comedy. i told you the chilean was really nice. game na game.

then the emcee called on 2 volunteers, a boy and a girl. jardin volunteered himself. the crowd volunteered sophia. the two "raced" to get the life jackets on. fortunately sophia's helper was the chilean lady (yet another reason to like her) and she won! yay! she got a doulos keychain. i dont know if jardin got a keychain too.

after all that we were taken to the doulos bookstore. russell said the ice cream aboard the doulos was good and even asked the emcee who was ushering us where it was (upstairs). we went upstairs and lo and behold, there was the coffee bar!!! (where they sold ice cream) and also the BOOKSTORE.

It wasn't small. it was big. it was huge! and CROWDED. luckily just as i entered i saw a shelf of heartsong romances. I love heartsong romances. i randomly picked on and went on my way. me and ja (my buddy and seatmate) went around the store for a while, me wanting to check out the books, but it was just too crowded so i just went to pay for my book, while ja went to line up for ice cream. yay!

i paid 50 pesos for the heartsong romance and 30 pesos for the ice cream (it WAS good.) then we CRed. medyo weird CR nila...

when we went to the other side of the deck we saw this thing like the one outside ripley's believe it or not somewhere wherein you put a coin and your coin rolls down into the center. it was interesting. makes you wonder.

also, there was another area over on the other side full of books!! i went in and picked out a book for myself. NOVELS FOR 50 PESOS!!! where else can you get such a great deal? unfortunately stupid me only bought one book. i should have bought more. sigh.

We went back to the bus afterwards, after getting free pamphlets and booklets from people distributing them. in the bus we waited a while doing the same things. then we went home!!

THE END
